Jackelynn's POV
After sparring for a few hours, we washed up and got ready. Wearing a fresh pair of shorts and a t shirt, I grabbed my leather jacket and ran downstairs. Lucas was fixing his hair in the kitchen bathroom. His white t shirt hugged his muscles nicely. I could see why so many girls tried getting with him. He changed dramatically from the tiny, soft handed little boy I met all those years ago. Now he was taller, filled out with muscle, his hands hardened with calluses like mine, and he created a 'bad boy' vibe. In spite of all of that, I still saw him as my brother. He understood me like no one else did.
"Ready?" I asked him. He walked over to me and motioned to his hair. Rolling my eyes, I spiked it up how he likes it. He grabbed his leather jacket and we got on our bikes.
Arriving at Ethan's house, we looked through the open doorway seeing everyone in the back. I walked in and was greeted by a very hyper girl with sandy blonde hair. I knew it was Kaitlynn from the files I had been given about this case but let her introduce herself to me anyways. Mason came up and tried to calm her down but she just ran off.
His grey eyes contrasted the bright blue t shirt he was wearing that showed his muscles off. Damn werewolf genes. He introduced us to the other girl there, Anna. Jared asked about our family and both Lucas and I still felt the pain of losing those people even though it was a while ago. We have since formed our own little family with Liam. Liam, ever since he took me in was like a father for me while Lucas always was playful, caring, and protective like an older brother so I saw him as such. It was just the three of us, but we liked it. Lucas mentioned my birthday to get on my nerves since he knew I hated it. It always reminded me that another year had passed and I haven't found the people that killed my parents. Lucas always loved birthdays though since it reminds him that we survive another year, even with our lives constantly being in danger. When Lucas picked me up to throw me in the pool, I felt my shirt ride up and I hoped none of them saw my scars. I see them as marks that I am strong and I sport them proudly but I can't have werewolves knowing I know about them when they aren't supposed to know I know.
Coming up from the water my phone rang. I excused myself and took Liam's call.
"Liam." I answered.
"Jack, what are you doing?" He asked.
"I'm at a party."
"Is Luke with you?" he asked.
    "Yes, Luke is here too."
"Well, we have a slight problem."
    "What's wrong?" I asked.
"We need to meet with Alpha Kyle."
    "Oh. Ok why?"
    "We will explain everything tomorrow."
    "Alright, tomorrow?" I confirmed.
    "Yes, in Alpha Kyle's office."
    "Ok, We'll be there."
"Alright, Love you, Jack" He said fatherly.
"Love you too, I'll tell him. Bye." I said.
When I returned to the group outside we talked more and waited for people to show up. People walked up to the house and the music started playing loudly. I stood next to Lucas while he talked to some other guys, but I wasn't interested in the conversation. Walking through to the kitchen I grabbed a water. I felt someone walk in and come up beside me.
"Hey, you're the new girl right?" A boy asked. His dark brown eyes and sandy blond hair contrasting in the dim light of evening. His eyes held silver specks, showing his existence as rogue. He took a sip of his drink and looked at me waiting for my answer.
"In the flesh." I nodded at him. I turned away from him but kept my awareness of his presence.
"Well, you want a drink?" He asked trying to get my attention back. I started to shake my head but he shoved a red plastic cup in my hands. "Don't worry, it's just Captain 'n Coke." he reassured me, his eyes roaming down me. He turned to grab a snack that was on the counter behind us. I lifted the drink up to my nose and smelled. My nose filled with the bitter smell of alcohol mixed with sweet smell of roofies.
Anger flooded my blood. He turned to me eating a piece of pizza. An idea fluttered through my mind. I smiled at him sweetly.
"Could you grab my a piece please?" I ran my hand on his bicep seductively. His eyes clouded over with lust and a smirk spread across his lips. He placed his drink down and turned to grab the food. I quickly grabbed his cup from the counter, replacing it for mine. He handed me the slice, his eyes staring at my chest. He grabbed his cup and took a long gulp.
"This party is dull. Wanna go find something else to do?" he suggested, placing his hand on my waist pulling me closer. I felt like I wanted to throw up but I held a sultry smile on my face.
"Sounds like fun, baby. Just finish your drink." His smirk grew as he leaned his face down so I could smell the alcohol on his breath. Wanting to escape him faster, I pushed him back slightly and gently pulled his drink to his mouth, smirking.  Glancing at me, he tilted his head back and chugged it down.
He slammed his cup down on the counter and looked at me. His eyes swam with lust as he looked at me. He shook his head, trying to wake himself up. I smirked at him innocently as he looked at me confused. I leaned closer to him, my intense eyes bore into his drowsy ones.
"Next time you think about drugging someone, don't, you filthy mutt." I spat at him.
"Jackelynn?" I spun around to see Jared looking at the scene unfolding before him. "What's going on here? You ok?" he asked coming closer to us trying to get between me and the rogue in front of me who was struggling to maintain consciousness.
"Ya, everything is ok now. Just had to teach someone here that it's not nice to roofie somebody." I explained sassily. Jared's eyes grew darker until they were completely black. He grabbed the guy's collar and shook him.
"He roofied you?!" He growled out, shaking with anger.
"He tried to. I made his plan backfire though." I smirked and raised my eyebrow at the mystery rogue. Jared's head whipped around, his eyes slightly back to normal. His lips curled into a proud smile. Turning back to the guy, he spoke over his shoulder to me.
"Jackelynn, you should go have some fun. I'll deal with him for you." He told me.
"Oh, it's fine, I have the situation under control. I can do it." I smiled at Jared. He turned his and smiled at me, his warm honey brown eyes looking back at me.
"I know you can, but you shouldn't have to. I'll deal with him, go have fun." He told me, shooing me out.
I smiled and thanked him before walking out of the kitchen and up the stairs to escape the sweaty mass on the first floor. Walking up the stairs, I side stepped a few couples making out in the hall. I saw a window at the end of the hall and went over to peer out. The roof was always a place I could think. Back at the Academy, I would always be on the roof so I could think.
I gracefully walked along the shingles and sat down, pulling my knees to my chest. I thought about family. I lost mine but I created another. Not to replace, but to add.
"May I join you?" I looked over at Mason peeking his head out of the window and allowed him over. We talked a lot and eventually he asked about my parents. I explained the my mom was attacked by a wild animal, leaving out the detail of the wild animal was actually a werewolf. My father he still believes to be Liam so I left that out. The memories flitted through my mind.
"You were there... you saw what happened?" Mason said quietly. I only nodded as a tear rolled down my cheek, my eyes locked into the distance.I felt a hand on my cheek and a thumb wiped away a tear. Sparks flew threw my skin and I leaned my head into his hand, closing my eyes.
"You never show weakness in front of anyone. Don't cry, don't scream, nothing. Don't get attached." My training repeated through my head. Guilt flooded my body as I pulled myself away from Mason' comforting hand..
"I'm sorry, I shouldn't be doing this. I- I should just go." I started to get up. I was about to step back in the window.
"Wait, you can't drive back." He yelled back quickly. I looked at him confused.
"Why?"
"There's alcohol here. Didn't you get a drink? What about the roofied drink." I smiled at his concern.
"I don't drink. Even when it's not from some creepy party crasher." I giggled and I hopped back into the house. I walked down to where I saw Lucas before and grabbed his arm, motioning with my head that it was time to go. He nodded and followed me out. We mounted our bikes and rode off to our house.
Getting back home, I explained to Lucas that we needed to meet Liam at the pack house tomorrow.
