breakfast was filled with silence.

"so papa, how's chastity". jade asked, taking a bite of cheerios.

and jade got up from the table and walked out the door.

"jade! get back here!" her father yelled.

jade walked to her bike and started riding it.

she rode her bike to the wealthy side of the town.

jon ran up to her, since jade stopped.

"hey, how are you"? he asked.

"i'm doing well, how are you"? jade asked, pushing hair out of her face.

"okay, dealing with things". jon said.

"jon, im always here if you want to talk about it"

"thanks jade, so why are you here"? jon said.

"um, i'm trying to find joe".

"oh he lives on the last house on this street, the brown one"!

"thanks jon". jade started peddling her bike down the street.

once jade reached the brown house, she began to panic.

what do i say? okay jade, i knock on the door and i ask if joe's there.

she walked onto the hardwood steps and knocked on the door twice.

she waited a couple seconds and then a women opened the door.

"hello"? she said.

"hi i'm jade...i was wondering if joe's here"? jade asked.

the women closed the door, one second she said. and yelled at joe because there's a girl here.

she opened the door again and smiled. "so what's your name"?

"i'm jade". this is so awkward.

"oh heavens forgive me! i'm joeys mom, kathrine!". katherine said.

"oh! i thought you were sister or something, you look so young". jade lied. she noticed grey hairs peeking through her hair curlers.

kathrine laughed. "aw thank you! you're so sweet"!

then kathrine came closer and hugged jade.

"sorry! i'm a hugger". she said when she noticed jade's uncomfortable face.

kathrine smiled at the girl, that her son talks about non stop.

then joe ran down the steps. mentally preparing himself for jade.

jade grinned. kathrine got the picture and left the two to go to do yoga.

"hey". joey said.

jade didn't know what to do, should she mention him might be part of new kids on the block or wait.

"can we go and do something. we need to talk". jade said.

joey nodded, she found out he thought.

joey grabbed his keys and unlocked his jeep. jade was hesitant, but then relaxed.
