Kilani didn't know what to wear. She was only 18, but was going to the Oscars because she was nominated for best actress. She didn't expect to win it. After all, she was going against some of the best. It was an honor just being nominated along with actresses such as Meryl Streep, Angelina Jolie, and Jennifer Lawrence. It wasn't her first time going to the awards show, but it was her first time going with a date. First time going with her boyfriend. But, Nathan was also her first boyfriend. Last time she wasn't planning on meeting up with anyone either, but she knew Julian was going to be there. She wanted to meet the guy in real life. She let out a sigh as she stared at the racks of dresses in the boutique. A girl, who appeared to be about her age, came up to the famous actress hesitantly, a light pink dress draped over her arms.
"Excuse me, miss?" The girl spoke, catching Kilani's attention. She smiled warmly at her, causing the girl's cheeks to turn a similar shade to the dress.
"Hi!" Kilani responded enthusiastically.
"I um....I found a dress you might like." Kilani's eyes drifted down to the dress in her arms, admiring the girls eye for dresses. It was a gorgeous dress.
"Thank you. The dress is breathtaking."
"I thought it would be more breathtaking on you." The compliment brought a blush to Kilani's cheeks, and Kilani opened her mouth to thank the girl.
"Thank you. Do you see any dresses in here that you like? For yourself?" Kilani offered to buy her a dress before she realized exactly what she was saying, but the actress couldn't take back her offer now.
"Oh no, this isn't really my style. I just thought I'd come in after you and try to see if I could find a dress for you." The girl replied immediately.
"You have good taste in dresses, that's for sure." The girl blushed even more, before handing Kilani the dress in her arms and leaving the store. Entering the dressing room, Kilani changed into the dress. The dress suited her perfectly, and she was sure Nathan would love the dress. He was off filming another movie in Chicago, so the dress choice would be a complete surprise. She only had to tell him the color so he could match. After examining herself in the dress, she slipped it off and paid at the desk.
"Have a wonderful day, Miss Adams." The clerk said as she was leaving.
"You too!" She called over her shoulder.
Meanwhile, Julian was at a suit store in his hometown, trying on different suits. He wondered what Kilani was wearing, forgetting for a moment that she had a boyfriend. His eyes landed on a suit that was perfect, sure to impress the paparazzi. Secretly, the famous actor hoped that it would impress the younger girl. He shook the thoughts from his mind, trying the suit on. It would need a few adjustments, but they could be made before he had to fly out for the awards. He hadn't told her he was nominated for best actor, alongside Nathan, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Harrison Ford. In the back of his mind, he knew he didn't stand a chance. He was up against actors who he had looked up to for years, and the young heartthrob who had a knack for acting like no other. The clerk was watching him with curious eyes, as Julian was just standing in the middle of the shop, lost in thought.

As she expected, Nathan loved the dress. He had flown back two days before the awards, surprising her. He wasn't supposed to get back until the night before the awards, but Kilani wasn't complaining about the extra two days she had with him. Both were nervous, Nathan more so than Kilani, with the added stress of filming another movie. It was the day of the awards show, meaning the day was spent having makeup put on and taken off in favor of a new look, and hair being brushed and put up at least five times as the stylist looked at the dress. As she was getting pampered, Claire was picking out the jewelry she would be wearing, along with the shoes. Gertrude was painting her fingernails a nice shade of pink to match her dress, and Lucy was painting her toenails the same shade. Nathan was watching with amusement in his eyes, already prepared for the show. Finally, the stylists were done and the handed her the dress. Everybody in the room exited, except for Nathan. He smirked at his girlfriend, not planning on moving anywhere. Shrugging, the pampered girl carefully pulled her shirt over her head, careful of her hair and makeup, and her drying nails. She had already put the bra she needed to wear for the dress on, so she pulled the dress over her head, before turning to Nathan.
