~Sean~
I shook my head at that thought. There is no way that I shared emotion with Mark. That just seems way too illogical. Emotions don't work like that, right? Even after I try to reason with myself, I still have the feeling that is what had happened. I grunt angrily at the impossibility of that. No. No, no, no. That is not what happened and I just need to accept that he probably was feeling nothing in that moment.
As class ended, I felt like any appetite I had was ripped from me. I was so confused, I wanted to believe what I was telling myself but I couldn't, and I had to know why. So I dragged myself to the very empty, dusty library and sat myself down in front of a computer.
I sat there for a bit, unsure of what to look up. I then decided to search, 'why do humans not experience emotion'. I wasn't sure what would come up, or if anything would come up at all, but a few articles did.
"The government has come to a decision to make every human being artificially since scientist Conner Thornburrow was able to figure out how to genetically make a child inside a woman. The process allows Thornburrow to make the child anyway he wants, taking out things they can be susceptible to, like diseases and it makes sure that the child grows properly. This process even allows him to choose what gender the child will be, what color their eyes, hair and skin color will be, he can even control what emotions they have."
I stopped reading there and frowned. They chose to do this, and it was all this Thornburrow's fault. I moved on to the next article dreading what it would say.
"The law has been passed for sameness to take place. This means emotions shall be eliminated along with ability to see colors. New rules will be set in place and jobs will be given out. There will be a strict schedule to be followed and perfect families will be created, meaning there will be four people per house. Two adults and two children. There will be one male and one female for both ages. All people above the age of 30 with emotions now are to be killed. All females under 30 will be used as a vessel for creating artificial life. This is all for your safety. There will be no crime or scandal after sameness takes place. We will create a perfect community."
I was in disbelief. This world we live in was created because they were trying to perfect society. I guess they succeeded in a way. None of this crime stuff they were taking about, however they committed a crime themselves when trying to take that away. The crime they committed was taking away emotion.
Then my mind brought something to my attention. If they took away emotion genetically while we were still being developed, why do I have it then? Am I a mistake?
Hey guys! I decided to update a short little chapter today. I just felt like that was a good place to end it. And I'm feeling a lot better now. My mouth has fully healed and I can eat regular food again with no problem. Anyways I hope you enjoyed this little chapter. I hopefully will update this again soon. Bye!!
