Chapter 6. The ring

Mitch's POV

Scott and I decided to walk to the shops. It's not that far, only about 4 blocks.

As we start to walk down the road, Scott reaches down to interlock his fingers into mine. I smile and continue walking. His hand fits in mine like it was made just for me. Scott pulls out his phone and headphones. He gives and earphone to me and turns on Beyoncé. We both softly sing along. He is so perfect and to call him my boyfriend is amazing. I never pictured myself dating my best friend but who cares, I am now, and I'm happy.

Once we reached the shops, Scott turns off the music and opens the door for me. The shops are very small. They have a small IGA ( a/n I'm Aussie XD so idek if they have iga over in America but let's go with that. Iga is a small supermarket if you didn't know) a jewellers and a bakery. "I'm hungry, wanna get something from the bakery" Scott asks. This is my chance to get to the jewellers with out Scott finding out what I'm buying. "Na. I'm alright you go I'll catch up with you in the jewellers" I say, then I hug him and he kisses me and we walk our separate ways.

When I walk into the jewellers, I searched for all the rings. When I found them in a glass drawer a lady walks over. "How may I help you sir?" She asks nicely. "I'm looking for a ring for my partner" I say not looking up. "Oh okay what does she like" she says. I smile. "He, and he like silver and stars" I say with a smile.

"Oh I'm so sorry I didn't- " I stop her "hey it's okay" I say. She looks at the rings and pulls one out. "What about this one?" The ring I'm her palm is perfect. It's silver with little stars engraved on the side. "I'll take it" I say. I pay for it and walk out the door where I find Scott on a near by bench stuffing his face with a chocolate doughnut.

"Come on Scott let's go" I say signalling him to stand up. He finishes his donut and we start to walk back to the house. "What's in the bag" Scott asks. "Oh nothing" I say trying not to be suspicious. "Tell me!!" He begs. "It's a surprise" I say as I grab his hand. He rolls his eyes and continues to walk.

Scott's POV.

What the hell could be in Mitch's bag. I'm so confused. It's some sort of jewellery. I just don't know what.

When soon reach the house. I unlock the door and step inside. Wyatt greets us at the door. Mitch leans down and picks up the cat. "Hey boyyy" he says as he pats the cat. "Come on Scott let's watch a movie" Mitch suggests. "Yes!!" I answer with excitement. "What about The notebook" Mitch suggests. "Yes I love that movie. " I say with excitement.

We go sit down on the couch. I sit on the left hand side and Mitch sits on the right, with the bag on the floor below him. "Scott come over here pwease" he begs. I crawl over the lounge to Mitch. I lay on his chest and rest my head on his shoulder. He kisses me on the top of my head but that wouldn't do. I leant up and kissed him passionately on the lips. We kiss for what feels like hours even though it was just a couple of minutes.

We stay like this, me laying on his chest, for a while. We watch the notebook. It's such a sad movie. I slowly find myself dosing off. I'm quickly awoken but Mitch saying "he Scott I have something for you" I wake myself up and I slowly push my self off his chest. "Yes?" I asked confused. He leans down Into the bag and pulls out a small box.

"Scott will you..."
