Chapter 2

Parenting Class dragged on and on with me and Kade making small talk about random things sports mostly, I had one more class until lunch and then we'd all talk about this. It shouldn't be a big deal but that dang teacher and his schemes to humiliate me. I groaned and pulled at my hair, earning me some looks as the bell rang.

"That was weird," Kade said finally, "He did that because you made a harmless joke, but the horrified look on you face was hilarious."

"Shut up." I groaned turning away from him heading to my fourth period, I had none of my three friends in this class just some annoying jocks who didn't like me for some reason. But they usually stayed away in fear of Kade's wrath, because damn, that boy was scary when he was mad.

Fourth period went by quickly without any problems from Ross and Miles, the boys who picked on me, I headed off to lunch looking forward to seeing Kade, Melanie, and Grant, Grant especially I love him so much, he may be my adopted brother but he's been there for me looking out for me ever since I came into his life. He's a little overbearing at times but I love him because I know he means well. I see them sitting out our usual table in the middle of the lunch room, Kade and Grant grinning and Melanie glaring at them.

"I hate you both so much," She says then she notices me, "Xay, please tell them that I do not faint whenever Alex talks to me."

Alex was her crush since 8th grade, he was tall and had nice dark hair and chocolate eyes. I tried to get Kade to set them up but he thinks it's funny to see her freeze up around him.

"You don't faint but you do freeze up around him....." My voice growing quieter with every word, she glared at me and I hid behind Grant and Kade, "Save me from the mean lady!" I screamed and they laughed, those assholes!

"Nah you dug your own grave."Kade said Grant agreed with him by nodding is head, oh how I hate them.

I went and got my lunch and sat down at the table again.

"I forgot to ask you, I got distracted by what happened during third period," I said to Kade shuddering at the thought, "But can I go to your house with you after school?"

"No," The nerve of this asshole!,"Just kidding of course I'll take you home, I like hanging out with you. But I have to go to my other friends I said I eat lunch with them, sorry Xay" He said to me shooting me an apologetic look.

"No, Don't leave me with the crazy lady and the mean man that will let her kill me!" I cried grabbing onto him earning us some looks from other tables.

"Sorry but I have to go." He sighed shooting me another apologetic glance before he got up and left. We watched as he joined the jocks at their table easily joining in with them.

I knew full well that he had another group of friends that he loved to be with but he'd always chose me, but I knew that he couldn't just blow them off forever so I couldn't be mad at him. Besides I'd get to go home with him and hangout after school, but basketball would start soon and I wouldn't be seeing much of that soon. I sigh in exasperation.

"Aww somebody trying to get over their breakup blues, sorry boo he's moved on." Melanie said while Grant just laughed. I pouted and glared at both of them.

"We never dated," I scream earning us some more looks,"Besides we're both straight and he likes somebody else."

"Aww cheer up Xay, one day you'll get the man of your dreams, but on another note what happened in class today?" Grant asked, he knew full well I didn't have a crush on Kade but he liked messing with me.

I just sighed and glared at both of them,"I mouthed off to a teacher and as punishment..." I gather my courage for the teasing I was going to get from them both, "AndhemademeandKadeintoagaycouple!"
