Chapter 4

There was a gunshot, the body fell down in front of me and blood started forming pools from the wound. I dropped the gun and started crying not believing what I'd just done. I screamed-

I woke up screaming covered in sweat with tears falling from my eyes, Kade stirred next to me slowly getting up rubbing his eyes.

"It was just a dream, just a dream, just a dream." I whispered to myself quietly, trying to convince myself that none of that was real. Those nightmares weren't uncommon, Kade had dealt with them before so he knew what to do.

"I've got you, Xay," Kade said softly, pulling my trembling body up next to his incredibly warm one,"I'm not going to let go, Okay? I'm here just go to sleep."

This is what people had to do, at home if I had nightmares Grant would come into my room and sleep with me and whisper things to me. If I was at Melanie's she and I would watch a funny kids movie and eat ice cream to feel better. My friends may be assholes sometimes, but they're always there for me no matter what.

"I'm sorry Kade." I say to him quietly.

"Don't worry about it Xayvier, I'll always be here if you need someone to cry on. I'm your best friend and I'll never leave you." Kade says quietly to me hugging me tightly to his chest. Slowly, I begin to fall asleep, hoping that I'd get no more nightmares and luckily I didn't.

-------------------Next Morning------------------

I woke up curled up in a ball next to Kade's chest, his arm was around me to ensure I wouldn't fall away from him. I remembered the events from last night, I'm so lucky to have friends like mine I'd do anything to repay them for all they do for me.Then I felt something press against my leg, something hard.

"Really Kade!" I yell at him, smacking him in the face making him wake up.

"Huh, what is it?" He asks me looking around the room sleepily.

"Somebody's a little excited this morning, don't you think?" I say glaring at him.

"Wait, what?" Kade says before the realization dawns on him, he face grows red in embarrassment,"Oh my god I'm so sorry!"

"Go take a shower and handle it, weirdo." I say giggling at his embarrassment, this has happened before, I just love making Kade feel awkward about it.

"Um, yeah okay sorry" He says quickly growing an even darker shade of red, before running off to his bathroom to take a cold shower or do the other method.

"Kade if I hear porn sounds come from that bathroom I'm gonna tell your mom!" I yell giggling a little bit. I know, I know I'm an asshole, but his reactions are hilarious!

"Shut up!" He yells back, I can practically see the blush and embarrassment on his face as I hear the shower turn on, I jump on his bed and practically die laughing.

After a little while he comes out of the bathroom with a towel wrapped around him, his blond hair plastered to his forehead some falling in front of his emerald colored eyes. He's so lucky, my eyes are just a dull, boring blue!

"Ugh, why do you get cool eyes?" I whine to him, as he looks in his drawer for some underwear, he finds some and the grabs some basketball shorts and goes into the bathroom, not wanting me to see him naked. It happened once and lets just say, I'm scarred for life.
