After the two boys ate their pizza together, Gerard brought Frank back upstairs to his room to have a makeover. Or at least do their nails.

"You do this a lot?" Frank asked as Gerard was eagerly putting glittery pink nail polish upon the older boy's nails. "Yeah, and, and it makes you look pretty." Gerard responded with a smile. Frank smiled as well.

"Do you do this with Mikey?" Frank asked. "Sometimes. But Mikey is really busy now. That's why he got me my iPad, cause sometimes he's too busy to play with me." Gerard replied with a light shrug, like it wasn't a big deal. But when Gerard was feeling lonely it was a big deal. Or if something went wrong at school, and Mikey was too busy with work to talk to Gerard about it- at least that's what Gerard assumed.

"Are you excited to start school again?" Frank asked. "No." Gerard responded simply, making Frank chuckle. "No, me neither. I like weekends better." "Today is Sunday, and I have school tomorrow, and Mikey is going away this week." Gerard informed. "Mhm, that's right. And I have school with you." Frank nodded. "Yeah," Gerard smiled to himself.

"Look, I finished," Gerard announced as he closed his nail polish. Frank chuckled as he looked over his now sparkly pink nails. Because of Gerard's... Well, personality, Frank expected them to be messy. But Gerard was very precise and Frank's nails looked like they were done by a professional. Frank got the feeling that Gerard only tried hard on things he liked. That must've been a reason why he didn't go to school for a while. He didn't like school.

"They look very nice Gerard, thank you." Frank smiled, making Gerard beam.

"Can, can we go downstairs and get cookies for dessert?" Gerard asked suddenly. Frank was a little surprised Gerard remembered they didn't have any dessert. "Yeah, sure thing." Frank smiled as he got up. Gerard smiled and lead Frank downstairs, after neatly putting his makeup away.

Gerard suddenly paused before setting foot into the kitchen, gasping and covering his mouth. "What is it?" Frank asked concerned before looking into the kitchen for himself. "There's a spider on the table!" Gerard shrieked.

Frank's face grew pale. There was a spider on the table, not very big and certainly not dangerous, but Frank had a fear of spiders, possibly more than Gerard did. Gerard didn't seem to like spiders because yes they were creepy but also gross. He thought lots of bugs were gross, but he liked a select few of insects. Definitely not spiders though.

"Is it gonna kill us?" Gerard asked terrified, Frank stiffening further. "Um..." "You have to kill it Frankie!" Gerard squeaked. "M-Me?" Frank panicked. Frank knew the spider wasn't dangerous, but he had an overwhelming fear he just couldn't get past. And he knew Gerard wouldn't kill the spider, Gerard wouldn't go near it, but he also doesn't seem like the type to hurt anything, even an insect.

Frank sighed. "..Alright, let's get this over with..." Frank muttered, mostly to himself.

Frank grabbed one of his shoes from near the front door, and slowly made his way into the kitchen. His heart was pounding, he felt like he was going to die of a heart attack. Out of complete and utter fear, Frank quickly and aimlessly slammed the bottom of the shoe against the table, luckily hitting the spider on his first try (He's missed before and it didn't end well).

"Holy shit," Frank sighed quietly to himself with relief. He looked over at Gerard, who then smiled and clapped his hands for him. Frank couldn't help but smile a little. Frank grabbed his shoe and slid the bottom against the trashcan, until the spider's corpse was off and now trash. Frank tossed his shoe over to the front door and flopped over on the couch, sighing to himself as he muttered. "I'm never doing that again..."

Gerard plopped himself on the couch next to Frank, kicking his legs back and forth. He seemed to be intrigued in seeing whatever Frank was doing. Then he spoke suddenly.

"Frankie?"
"Yes?"
"Do you want cookies?"

"Sure Gee," Frank sighed with a smile. Gerard's cheeks tinted pink before smiling. Only Mikey called him that before. However Frank didn't really seem to notice he'd called Gerard that.

Frank got up and Gerard lead him into the kitchen. Gerard grabbed two bowls for them and Frank opened the cookie jar off the counter. "How many are you allowed to have?" Frank asked. "I, I can have three little ones, or two big ones." Gerard replied honestly. "But that's only on special days... Mikey doesn't like me having too much cookies so I have one big one..." He went on.

"Well, I think today should be a special day," Frank began as he placed too large cookies into the bowl Gerard was holding. Gerard smiled. Frank smiled back, taking one cookie for himself before closing the jar. Gerard exchanged the second bowl to Frank and the two went into the living room to watch tv while they ate.

The two watched SpongeBob for almost an hour before Frank checked the time. It was almost nine. "When's your bedtime?" Frank asked suddenly. "It's, it's nine on weekends and eight-thirty on normal days," Gerard replied. "Well we got school tomorrow, we better get you to bed," Frank said as he turned the tv off. Gerard pouted.

"Come on," Frank spoke as he got up. Gerard stayed pouting. "What is it?" Frank asked. "I don't want school..." Gerard replied unsurely. "Don't worry about it, I'll be there with you all year, okay?" "..Okay."

Frank took Gerard upstairs and waited outside his bedroom for him to change into his pajamas. When he was out, he was wearing a pink fuzzy top and bottom set of pajamas, with a few kittens on them. Then Gerard went to brush his teeth before returning to his room and laying himself on the bed.

"Will you tuck me in?" Gerard asked suddenly. "Oh, sure," Frank replied from the doorway, stepping to Gerard's bedside and pulling the pink layers of blankets over the younger boy. Frank had almost forgotten by then that they were about the same age.

"Are you leaving now?" Gerard asked. "No, I'm staying until Mikey gets back. I gotta watch you." Frank replied. "But I'll be sleeping," "I know, and I gotta make sure you sleep safely." Frank said calmly. "Why?" "Cause Mikey and I care about you. We want you to be safe." Gerard smiled to himself. Nobody other than Mikey had cared about him before.

"Come get me if you need anything, okay?" Frank spoke as he turned on Gerard's star-shaped nightlight. "Yes Frankie." Gerard replied casually. "Goodnight Gerard." "Goodnight Frankie..."

With that Frank turned out the lights and exited the room. He sighed and walked downstairs, laying himself down on the couch. He had a lot to think about after tonight.

He had told Gerard he cared about him... But did he actually care?

Frank thought long and hard about it.

He came to the conclusion that yes, he did care about Gerard. He cared a lot.
