As I stepped from the car and onto the pavement, I adjusted my clothes.

It has been a very long time since I last went to The Grill, and I finally decided to let Caroline talk me into it.

When I walked through the door memories came flooding back; welcoming me.

"Odette! Over here!"

She yelled from the other side of the room. I rolled my eyes and joined them at the booth in the back.

"Do you think you were loud enough, Caroline?", I teased.

She shot me a playful glare.

"Hey guys, what can I get you?", Matt asked with a notepad in hand.

"I'll have a cappuccino, please."

"Make that two.", Bonnie said.

He jotted down the two orders and looked at me.

"And what will it be for you?"

"Black coffee, please.", I answered.

He shook his head and snickered.

"As always. Your orders will be right up.", he got back to work.

One great thing about Matt, he's always there to give you a smile.

"So, did you ever meet up with Stefan?", Bonnie pinched my arm.

I shook my head and blushed.

"You mean Mr. Hottie?"

Caroline inched closer, suddenly interested in the conversation.

"No, I didn't catch him. He must have left early.", I shrugged.

"Wait! I'm lost. When did this happen?", she asked, completely clueless.

"Mr. Tanner asked her a question in class yesterday that she didn't to know and Stefan came to the rescue.", Bonnie explained.

"Ohhh..."

"Yeah and I wanted to thank him after class, but he never showed.", I dully traced the table with my finger.

Caroline opened her mouth to speak when Matt came back with our drinks.

"Alright, two cappuccinos and one black coffee.", he placed the steaming mugs in front of us.

"Thanks Matt."

"No problem.", he sent us a warm smile before leaving.

I watched curiously as Caroline stared off dreamily at his retreating figure.

"You like him."

She snapped back into reality and shook her head.

"No..."

"Caroline, it's so obivious.", I cut off her objection.

"But, he would rather date you instead."

Bonnie and I busted out laughing. The very thought of me dating Matt was just too ridiculous.

"What's so funny?", she demanded.

When I finally manged to capture my breath, I responded.

"That you seriously think that I would ever go out with Matt."

She pured her bottom lip in thought.

"Caroline, he's like a big brother to me. I could never date him.", I assured her.

Her mouth twitched into a grin.

"Yeah, I guess you're right."
