It All Starts From The Heart

Greetings friends, family of Jesus. In the previous chapter we discovered that only Jesus can bring us out of sin because he is the one who died and rose again conquering sin and death. He took our punishment for us. God says the wages of sin is death. But through the death of Jesus we are saved and forgiven. This chapter just wants to emphasise the fact that everything starts from the heart. Sin starts from the heart as well. Yes it does. There is also a format to temptation and the first stage is desire now desire comes from the heart. You can desire to do either good or bad then our desires become actions. The devil doesn't really change his ways to make us sin. It's exactly the same. The same used in the garden of Eden. The Bible talks about guarding the heart in proverb 4:23 : Above all else, guard your heart, for EVERYTHING you DO flows from it. To confirm that there is a connection between the heart and desire, the Bible says in psalm 37:4 : Take delight in the Lord and he will give you the DESIRES of your HEART. Now to the point. Our heart is very important. To do away with sin you should give your heart to God through prayer and scripture reading. But we are going one step at a time. Today, DESIRE a life free from sin. It should be something you really want. My friends there is a God and he is real. The Bible is true. Just say to God 'I desire a life free from sin' then pray to Jesus again to help you overcome it. Our journey from imperfection needs our desire to move to perfection. God wants you. God wants your heart.
