Today was the semi finals for Bay Leaf High School. They had to win to make it to the finals.
Everybody came to watch the game, and everybody was depending on their captain. Aquarius.
The coach told everybody their positions. Aquarius was center mid, Lynn was right forward, and Hazel was left defense.
"Woo!! Go Aqua!!" James screamed, leaning on the bench behind him.
Aquarius looked up and waved to him.
"You got this Sea Lions!" Eric yelled.
"Yeah! Make us proud!" July shouted.
"Don't worry! We're going to win!" Lynn yelled back.
The other team got onto the field with the referee. The ball was placed on the ground and the center forwards did rock, paper, scissors. Sarah, who was on the Sea Lions, won. They got the first kick.
Sarah kicked it back to Aquarius, who kicked it out on the other side of the field.
The goalkeeper kicked it to a defense player on the left. But Lynn was right on her and got the ball.
The sidelines cheered as Lynn kicked the ball at the net when she was closer. The the goalie stopped it and kicked it to center field to a player. Aquarius was there. The player tried to get past her but the ball was stolen by her instead. Aquarius ran up the field to the net. A defense was in her way. She stopped, they tried to get it, but couldn't. Aquarius did some fancy foot work and got around her. Everybody cheered. She kicked the ball past the goalie, scoring the first goal of the game.
"Wooo!! Awesome!!" James yelled.
Justin laughed at him.
"They got this." James said.
They started again. A few minutes in they got another goal. One more time they started, and got another goal. 3-0, so they went on the defence. They pulled back, and had a battle to stop them from getting some goals. Aquarius had to move to center defense. But it was to late. They got a goal scored against them.
"It's okay! You can get it back!" Justin yelled to them.
Aquarius was to tired to yell back. She wiped her face with her hand.
She got moved back to mid field.
Sarah kicked it back to Aquarius again, and she kicked it across the field. Goalie kick. It was kicked right center. Lynn got it first, but then she lost it. Aquarius was ready. They came into the middle a bit and she got on them.
"You got this Aquarius!" Justin yelled.
She stole the ball and ran up the field. She was faster then everybody else, so if she missed they might not get the rebound. So, she got close. The defense kept backing up allowing more space for her to move in. Then a defense player goes at her from her left, and goes for the ball. But Aquarius was kicking it at the net. She kicked Aquarius in the shin and tripped her instead. Aquarius went down, bracing herself with her hands but she ducked and rolled. But she rolled to far, into the nets pole, hitting her head. The people on the sidelines stood up as soon as she was being tripped.
"Aquarius!" Hazel yelled, running up from defense.
"Aquarius!" Lynn yelled, coming from the center of the field.
"Aquarius!" Justin yelled from the sidelines, starting to run to her.
The girl who tripped her was shocked and was walking in a circle with her hand over her mouth.
