Chapter #18: The Halloween Party

October Saturday, 29th, 2016

It was party day. Aquarius was excited and nervous at the same  time.

The party started at 7:00 pm and it was 6:30 pm. So she decided to get into her costume. She put on black purple pants and a long sleeve shirt. Next she put on a back piece with a scorpion tail, which was also black purple. She put a little bit of makeup on her eyes.

Her phone buzzed and she looked at it.

Hazel
Hey. We're almost at your house. You ready?

Aquarius
Ready as I'll ever be.

Hazel
Great. See ya soon.

Aquarius put her phone down and paced. This party was going to be much bigger. She was afraid of what might happen there.

She hears a honk of a car and looks out her window. A van sat in the driveway. She puts her phone in her pocket and heads downstairs.

"Mom! I'll be back later!"

"Be careful! Lot's of things can happen at party's! Don't take drinks from strangers!"

"I know mom! I'm not a child!"

Amelia mutters, "You are."

Aquarius left the house angry, but when she got onto the porch, she felt relieved to be gone. Then fear took over.

"Aquarius! You coming!" Hazel yells at the window.

She snaps out of her trance and looks up and sees Hazel waving from inside the car. She starts down the stairs and to the car. She opens the door and sees Eric at the drivers seat, Thomas in the front seat, Hazel behind Thomas, Lynn in the back with Ocean and July.

"Hey Aquarius!" Lynn greeted.

"Hey everybody." Aquarius said as she got in.

"You excited?" Eric asked.

"I guess." She replied as she buckled in and Eric pulled out.

"Don't worry. There's going to be only people from school." Hazel said.

"I don't know anybody from school. Only the 11 of you, but even then I don't know most of you very well."

"It'll be fine. I'll be by your side the whole time." Hazel said.

"Thanks Hazel." She smiles at her.

Eric pulls into a driveway about 10 minutes later. He parks and everybody piles out.

They look to the house and see lights one, music played really loud.

"Wow." Eric chuckles. "He's done it again."

"That's my boy." Thomas cheered and wrapped his arms around Ocean and Eric.

Eric chuckles. "Come on." He got out of Thomas's arms and walked towards the house. Everybody else followed behind. Ocean was still in Thomas's arm. Aquarius was at the back.

They got up the porch steps and and Eric opens the door. Music blared out, lights flashed. They walk in.

"Wow!" Ocean cheers.

Thomas chuckles. "You'll have a great time. Let's go." He and Ocean walk away. Eric was gone, and so was everyone else but for Aquarius and Hazel.

"Told you I wouldn't leave you." Hazel said, and puts a hand on her shoulder.

"I knew you wouldn't." Aquarius smiles at her.

Hazel smiles back and takes her arm. "And we're going to have a great time."
