"Hello and Good morning Mooresville! It's 7am and let's kick off your morning with this feel good tune-"

Stupid radio guy. He's too god damn happy in the morning. I forced myself to get out of bed to prepare myself for school. Same routine as everyday. Get up. Shower. Dress. Eat. Wait for Kacey to pick me up and then make my way to the hell hole of a school. I used to like school but now Finn isn't there it is really shit.

"Hey babe" Kacey sung as I stepped into her car

"Hey Kacey"

Kacey is one of my good friends. Typical girly girly, drop dead gorgeous, big boobs, perfect figure. You could say I was envious. But she had a good heart.

"So, you going to find yourself a hunk to keep you entertained this summer?" Kacey winked, linking arms with mine as we walked through the school gates.

"Kacey" I whined "You know I don't want a boyfriend right now. I need to be there for Finn"

"And that is understandable but you deserve a man babe"

"I have Finn, that is good enough for me" I stated

Kacey wasn't going to argue. We had had this discussion several times before and I wasn't changing my mind.

I made my way into history class. Taking my regular seat at the back so I didn't have to suffer Mr Jeffrey's spitting habit.

"Alrighty class, so today we have a new student joining us" Mr Jeffrey told us, sharing his spit with Lisa Ramsey as well. Poor girl, she moved here 6 months ago and it was the only seat available at the time.

"Why don't you introduce yourself" he added talking to the new member.

I zoned out though, I couldn't careless. Until I felt a presence on the seat beside me. I looked over and of course the new kid was placed next to me.

He was tall, short dark brown hair and piercing light blue eyes. His eyes were gorgeous, I had never seen anything like them. Wait. Alaina shut up.

"Hi, I'm Nash" he spoke shyly but with a genuine smile.

"Hi, I'm Alaina" I said returning the smile.

"Nice to meet you Alaina" he replied shooting another smile and turning to face the teacher.

"So class, now I know it is the holidays tomorrow but I still need to you to be doing work" Mr Jeffrey told the class which got many comments of disapproval.

"I want you to do a project with your partner on a great historic event of your choice" he continued. You have the rest of this period to talk with your partner and come up with an event"

I looked over at Nash, waiting for him to say something and break the silence between us. Nothing.

"Soo... Umm... What should we do?" I croaked out

"Um, we could do a battle of some sort?" He questioned, looking at me with his amazing eyes.

I hated battles but wow how could I say no when he is looking at me like that.

"Yeah sure that would be cool" I replied quickly, staring at my pen in my hands. Finally the bell rung signalling the end of the day and the beginning of the summer. I grabbed my bag and hurriedly walked out the door. Meeting Kacey at the gates.

"Hey, Alaina!" A voice shouted from behind me. I turned around to see Nash walking towards me.

"I was wondering, do you want to come over to mine and start the project? I'd thought it be good to finish it early and well, get to know each other?" He asked sheepishly
