When school was back in session after winter break, things went back to business as usual. Chanyeol and Kyungsoo were still outcasts to most, but they didn't mind it as much anymore. They had each other to talk to and rely on now. Of course, good fortune had worked in their favor as well, and a few other people joined their friend group.
The first new friend that they had acquired was a tall senior boy by the name of Jung Taekwoon, who was usually quiet in all of his classes and never talked to anyone. Turns out he was Kyungsoo's neighbor, and the two had gotten to talking when he accidentally hit Taekwoon in the face with a snowball when he had been aiming at a tree. They clicked through love of books and music, and Taekwoon started sitting with them at lunch as well. He had been a little intimidated by Chanyeol at first, but he eventually opened up around them.
Then, a few days later, Wonho had unexpectedly walked over and sat down at their table, and when Chanyeol had asked him why he was there with a surprised smile, he simply responded, "because you are a good person, and I want real friends." Ovbiously, he fit in perfectly with their weird little group of outcasts.
Finally, the newest addition to their group had been Park Jimin, a new student who had just gotten here from Busan. He was nice enough, and Kyungsoo was happy that he had found someone as short as him, even though neither of them admitted they were short.
Today was Wensday, and the five of them were sitting at their usual spots outside during lunch, despite it being freezing cold outside. Chanyeol kind of missed the days when it had just been him and Kyungsoo out here, but at the same time, this was better. Having friends was nice. Everyone was completely bundled up in winter coats and such, except Taekwoon, who had forgotten his coat in class. The poor tall boy was paler then usual, and was shaking like a leaf.
"You okay Taek?" Chanyeol asked, putting down his sandwich.
"I-I'm fine..." He quietly answered, although the tremor was present in his voice.
"I could lend you my coat-" Jimin started to say, but they were cut off when crunching of feet against snow was heard.
The group turned around and saw a tall boy with dark hair racing towards them with a smile, holding a spare coat in his hands, he stopped when he got to them, a wide smile across his features, dimples present.
"I think you forgot this in class." He said, handing Taekwoon his coat then running back inside the school.
Taekwoon immediately put on his coat, his shivering gone.
"Who was that?" Kyungsoo asked, looking at Taek curiously.
"He's in my science class." Taekwoon said with a shrug.
"Oooh he liiikes you!" Wonho teased like a little kid, leaning closer to Taekwoon with a mischievous smile.
"Just because he gave me my coat doesn't mean he likes me." Taekwoon said quietly, pushing Wonho back playfully, but hard enough to send him onto the snowy ground.
Wonho simply shrugged and started making a snow-angel. Jimin laughed a bit, which caused Kyungsoo to laugh a bit also. Chanyeol looked to the boy sitting next to him with a smile. Kyungsoo's laugh was so cute, along with everything else about him. He looked a bit like a penguin right now, his small form wrapped up in a puffy black coat. The other boy's doe eyes glanced in Chanyeol's direction and noticed him staring.
"Do I have something on my face?" Kyungsoo asked, looking at Chanyeol with confusion.
"No your fine." Chanyeol said, snapping out of his daze when he turned and saw Jimin making a heart around the two of them with his hands.
" Jimin what are you doing? " Chanyeol asked, hoping people would think his cheeks were red from cold.
"I wasn't doing anything." Jimin said, quickly retracting his hands and going back to eating his lunch.
The rest of lunch wasn't that eventful, the usual occurred, Chanyeol staring at Kyungsoo some more, trying to ignore his feelings for the time being, Taekwoon didn't talk that much, Wonho repeatedly tried to steal bites of Jimin's ramen.

As lunch neared its end, the boys packed up and started heading to the building. Kyungsoo walked beside Chanyeol, looking up at the taller boy, hoping nobody would notice him staring. Why had Chanyeol been staring at him earlier? That was a question that he couldn't stop pondering. This beautiful human- this god couldn't possibly like him back could he?
Kyungsoo's train of thought was cut off when the five found their path blocked by Kai and his friends. Wonho, who was on the other side of Kyungsoo, sighed.
"Here we go..." He muttered to himself.
Kai stepped forwards, looking at the group distastefully.
"We don't mean you freaks any harm, but we want to talk to Chanyeol." Kai said, motioning for Chanyeol to follow him.
"I don't think you should." Kyungsoo said, grabbing the other boy's arm as he attempted to follow Kai.
Chanyeol looked back towards Kyungsoo. "It's ok... It probably won't be that bad?" He tried to reassure Kyungsoo, it looked like he didn't even believe himself.
Kyungsoo let go, and watched Chanyeol disappear after Kai and his friends.
