Chapter 8

It had been about a month now, and none of it was getting any better.

Why?

Because... Chanyeol had gone with them.

Not just walked away from Kyungsoo and all the others, but he had joined Kai's group of friends after that. He was... a completely different person almost. He had dyed his hair, gotten some piercings, lost the glasses in favor of contacts.

He was... a completely different person. 

He had started beating people up too. Wonho had learned this the hard way when they had ran into him the next week, coming out of that ordeal with a black eye and split lip.

Kyungsoo, for some odd reason, hasn't been bullied since Chanyeol left though.

Right now he was in science class, and was staring at his science book blankly, not actually reading anything or paying attention to anything his talkative lab partner was saying.

"And then- hey. Are you even listening to me?" His lab partner asked, leaning over the table so he could make eye contact with kyungsoo.

Kyungsoo didn't respond, and simply just put his head down in his arms, not wanting to deal with the rest of the world right now.

"Ok then." His lab partner said, going back to 'work' which was really just him talking to the person behind him.

Later, at lunch, he was sitting outside with the other three in the colder early spring weather, and they ate in silence.

That was, until Wonho piped up, trying to lighten the mood.

"So... Taek... when are you going to ask out that guy you like?" he asked, giving the quiet boy a playful smile.

"I told you... he's probably not interested. He is really cute... and could probably choose a lot of other people over me." Taek said, a small sigh leaving his lips, but his gaze then soon sharpened, and there was a ghost of a smile on his lips as he decided to bother Wonho as well.

"so... How are you and your boyfriend going? Caught you two making out in the restrooms last week-" he started to say, then Kyungsoo gagged a bit.

"gross man. Couldn't you save that for home?" he asked, suddenly not feeling like he should eat his sandwich. His stomach was now queasy with something that wasn't quite disgust.

Jealousy maybe? Not like he was jealous of Wonho's boyfriend or anything. They were both attractive guys, but neither were really his type. So perhaps... He was just jealous of their relationship. How he wishes he had that good of a connection with someone.

That's when Jimin, who was sitting sort of off to the side, facepalmed with his small hand and muttered something along the lines of 'we are all so gay and cliché it hurts me.'

"heyyyy-" Wonho started, going over to Jimin and starting to retaliate.

Kyungsoo eventually tuned them out, only being able to think about one thing. 

Chanyeol.

About the way the other boy used to smile at him, the way his eyes used to glint when he was talking about something he was interested in, how soft his hair was...

Wait. 

Was he-

He was. He was in love with him. He had been denying it until now. Oh why did he have to realize it now, why couldn't he have realized it earlier when chanyeol would have still been there. When he could have gotten the chance to tell him... Kyungsoo was an idiot.

"Hey... are you ok? You look a little freaked out." Taekwoon said, apparently while Kyungsoo had been thinking, the other boy had noticed how spaced out he was.

Kyungsoo was startled by the sudden presence in front of him, but shook his head, then put his head in his hands. He felt gentle pats on his back, and the awkwardness of the comforting had to mean it was Taek. 

The other two noticed Kyungsoo's state of mind, and went over as well. He felt a hug, knowing it was Jimin, as he had worn a fuzzy sweater that day.

"what's wrong?" Kyungsoo heard Wonho ask, and he knew the other boy was genuinely concerned, judging by his tone of voice.

"I should have told him... I should have told him before and maybe things would have been different." was all kyungsoo managed to get out before getting up and running off.

Meanwhile, Chanyeol was hanging out with his new friends. They weren't even at school, they were skipping that day. Chanyeol sat away from the others, reflecting on how badly he had messed up. He should have never agreed to this. He should have never taken Kai's offer.

But he had to.

He remembered what had happened when he had first been pulled away from his old group of friends.

Chanyeol had followed them back hesitantly, feeling like he was just going to get beat up again.

"what do you want?" he had asked them, not even caring about being rude or not anymore.

"well channie," Kai started, stepping forward with a smirk, "we have been discussing, and we see potential in you."

"what do you mean by potential?" Chanyeol asked, looking at him skeptically.

"I mean... We now can accept one more person into our group,  Now that Wonho has... Declared that he has left." Kai said, his smirk turning to a grimace at the mention of his former friend.

Chanyeol quickly caught what they were offering him, and he just as quickly declined.

"oh no. One hundred times no. I am not going to be a part of your little bully gang." Chanyeol said, shaking his head.

Kai gave him a glare, but then a malicious smile crossed his face when he thought of something.

"well... If you don't join we will beat up that little friend of yours... What was his name... Kyungsoo?" he said, knowing that this would definitely bait Chanyeol into joining.

Chanyeol stopped for a second, debating his options.

He finally decided.

"fine. I'll join you." he said, begrudgingly shaking Kai's hand.

And that had been the worst decision he had ever made.

"yo chan! Are you going to come with us or what?" one of the other guys shouted, breaking Chanyeol from his train of thought.

Chanyeol nodded, getting up and following them.

Hey guys, author koala here. Sorry for having such infrequent updates, school and other things have happened. But I promise I will do better now, seeing that this is the most popular book I have and I don't want to disappoint my readers more then I already have. (°◇°;)
The next chapter should be up about a week from now, so be ready for that! We are nearing the final chapters of this book, and I will be sad to see it go. But, I will probably make a sequel, or like three sequels, considering I have so many background ships going on in this book(•ᴗ•)❤
