I'm pretty disappointed at the moment. Mrs. Kathy congratulated Carter and I on our project since we got the highest grade, but she decided to finish the project as a class instead. I wouldn't blame her since there is stress that is going to evolve around the school community soon. It would still be nice to work on the project with Carter though.

But lunchtime came around quicker than usual, but I didn't mind it. Lunch was my favorite time of the day.

"So, what's up?" I ask Claire, who was eating a turkey sandwich.

"Nothing much. How are you holding up?" She shrugs while looking into my eyes.

"Claire, I'm not dying. Yeah, I'm upset about not working with Carter but I'm not dying," I say, playfully rolling my eyes.

"Still, if that happened to me then I would've been more upset," Claire giggled.

"You have a crush on someone? That's new," I laugh.

"What?" Claire commented while extending the word way longer than it should've been.

"Tell me," I demand, getting ready to bring out the puppy eyes.

"Oliver Beckett," Claire replied quickly.

"Is it that kid that works at the movie theater?" I question her, making sure I was talking about the right kid.

"That's the one," She answered. It went silent for about a pure second until she spit out "What?! He's cute!"

We laughs along and continue our lunch. Once Claire finished, she asked if she could go visit a small friend and I didn't mind. I can sit alone for a few minutes. So I did.

About a minute or two, I felt a tap on the back of my shoulder. I turned around quickly, hoping it was Carter. Sadly, it was the opposite.

"What do you want Amber?" I question, rolling my eyes with irritation.

"I'm inviting you to my house party! It's tonight at eight o'clock," Amber stated, giving me some information.

"I'm not going. Besides, you never talk to me so why would you invite me to one of your parties?" I ask. I decided quickly because her parties are wild. Too wild for me to handle.

"I thought you needed to let loose a little bit! You're so uptight and you need to have a few drinks!" Amber said with a smile. If I had to describe that smile in one word, it would be fake.

"I'm underage," I state responsibly.

"So what?" Amber said, nudging her arm into mine.

"I could get arrested," I say with concern.

"Stop playing by the rules, this is why you're uptight. I will see you at the party tonight," Amber said, leaving my table.

She was right about that part. I was uptight, but I wasn't going to get arrested for drinking underage. It could get on my record and that could be affected for my college opportunity.
