"Should I lock the door?" I ask Carter, pointing towards the main library entrance.

"Yeah, this is most likely one of the rooms that isn't trashed," Carter answered with a nod.

I got up from the floor and walked towards the doors. I closed them quickly and locked them. Staying in Amber's house was one of the riskiest things I've ever done.

I pick up a slide of cheese pizza and take a big bite out of it. I don't know what to talk to Carter about. School, our lives, our town?

"Uh...I'm shocked that we came this far in friendship...," I say, unsure on what I saying.

"Same here. I never had a 'gal friend'," Carter commented, taking a sip of his water. "It's way different than having a guy friend."

"That's true. I'm not a girly girl, trust me on that. I never had the girly girl stuff." I laugh, almost choking on my pizza. He laughs along with me.

"Uh..so, why didn't you want to go back home?" Carter asked out of the blue. No. Not this question! I had to lie and I hated lying. Especially to my crush. Besides, he could have used it on the Secret Page and that was the last thing I wanted.

"Um, where I live, there are some gangs and I don't want to get involved with them," I lie. Ugh.

"Oh," Carter commented. I think he believed me. Thank goodness!

We hear someone yelling and it was fairly far away. I wonder what it was about. So, I got up and placed my ear against the door.

"PARTY IS OVER!" the person screamed. It sounded like it was a female, but I could be wrong. I rush back to Carter and tell him.

"We have to hide," He said, getting up and sliding the pizza box under the couch.

"The door is locked!" I point out, trying to remain calm.

"They could open it up. We have to hide somewhere until Amber or her maids come in an check to see if it's trashed," Carter explained, pushing the water bottles under the couch with the pizza. The couch wasn't touching the ground; only the feet were.

"Okay, where are you hiding?" I say, running around silently, trying to find a place to hide.

"Behind the curtain," Carter answered, getting in place. He was hiding behind a red, floor length curtain and from my view, I could barely notice that he was there.

I continue to rush around, trying to find a hiding spot. The maid could be here any minute and I was out in the open. So, with little time I had left, I rolled myself under a couch. It was the same one where the pizza was hiding, but it was across the other one.

"You're good!" Carter whisper-shouts.

"I hear footsteps! Be quiet!" I confirm.

I listen to the maid, attempting to unlock the library doors and she was successful. She came in and took a look around the library, looking for any trash that the students made.
