I was thrilled after finally finding my way home, the walk here was longer than I thought, but after Pearl's directions, I was well on the path, a sudden downpour surprised me on my endeavor, but I didn't stop, it was already dark out and if I didn't get home now, mother would die of a heart attack.
It was still fall, but it was barely noticeable in Oregon, Pearl was wondering if we were even getting snow this year. I hope so.
I went up the pathway to the door and rang the doorbell. No one came, which I found odd, due to the fact that all the cars were outside.

I went to ring the doorbell bell again, but before I could, Blaire's small frame came in to view. She looked at me with what seemed to be a melancholic gaze. She smiled quietly as if she remembered a funny joke,
-"Hello, babycakes!" She greeted me playfully in a giggle.
Oh no, she must have heard mom call me that.
She could clearly read my annoyed face because she laughed a little louder.
And when I saw her smiling face, my heart sank to the bottom of my stomach and I was reminded that I couldn't have her.
Despite my pain, I didn't want that to ruin a possible friendship.
But, my unrequited feelings got the better of me.

I ignored her and went passed her, I zoomed upstairs to my room, I'll limit my self to just looking at her, I'll comfom my self by just breathing the same air as her.
But my heart ached, and I was angry at myself for being so attracted to her.

I went downstairs to take a shower, when I got out, David stopped me in the middle of the hall.
-"Hey Dean" he greeted
-"Hey David" I greeted back
-"I just wanted to let you know that we are going to fix this bathroom so, you and Blaire will have to share the one in her room, I hope that's not too much to ask."
Grand, this just got even more bothersome.
-"That's fine David, I just hope Blaire doesn't get too mad"
David chuckled
- "I haven't told her that bit yet" he confessed.
David and I continued talking for a little while
He told me about a noise his car was making, and I was just telling him what could be the problem, we also talked about weird movies and football.
I could tell David was trying to get along with me, and I could appreciate that, he was a great guy and so apposite of Blaire's explosive personality, I was starting to wonder if they were even related,
-"Did your mom tell you about the party tomorrow night?" He asked
-"yes, she did, some party the town holds every six months or something like that." I answered. He laughed
-"Yeah, we were personally invited! Isn't that great?" He said enthusiastically
-"I guess" I couldn't be any more disinterested.

-"Hey Dad?" Blaire called out from the stairs, then she noticed I was there too. She glared at me.
-"Nevermind" she said as she quickly ran back to her room.
David looked at me concerned,
-"Are you guys still fighting?" He hit the nail right on the head.
It was almost impressive how direct he could be.
-"Just a small disagreement." I quickly covered up.
David sighed
-"Oh Dean, thank you for putting up with my little drama queen, I admire your patience" he praised me.
I smiled awkwardly If only he knew my ill feelings towards her.
-"I'll go talk to her," he said and went upstairs

I went to the couch and watched TV for the rest of the night

I woke up the next morning, all I wanted was to eat and I mean eat.
I went to the kitchen to find mom and David chitchatting on the kitchen isle
-"Hey sweetie, good morning" greeted my mom
I replied with a groggy "Morning"
-"Hey is it cool if I make breakfast today?" I asked
My mom smiled,
-"That would be great" she liked it when I cooked for some reason.
-"You can cook Dean?" David asked surprised
I nodded quietly
He laughed
-"Well Blaire is a disaster in the kitchen, she burns everything."
He said chuckling, on old memories.
-"She can find a way to burn soup!" David exaggerated
I laughed too, somehow I felt like she would.

I prepared my signature chocolate chip waffle mix, I made enough for everyone, I fried the eggs and bacon.
I was pulling out the last egg from the pan when Blaire came to the picture,
I gazed at her in awe, she was so breath taking even freshly out of bed, her eyes met mine and I quickly averted my gaze.
