Capter 8: Two for one!

The next day at school, we still had our bruises. But I noticed Carlos and his group did too.

When we were passing by each other Carlos said "Ha, how's your eye Miya?" With a big old smug smirk on his face.

"Fine. How's yours Seth?"

He had a black eye from when I threw the rock at him.

Neither of us stopped to make this exchange, and we were going opposite ways, so when Seth herd this he turned around and started booking it towards me. I was already almost to my class though, so by the time he got to me, I was already safely through the door and in the presence of a teacher. Haha.

  He stood there pounding his fist into his hand and I just nodded and gave him a thumbs up. I'm not afraid of him...I think. The bell rang and I waved goodbye. It didn't look like he was planning on leaving, but the teacher went over and told him to get to class, then slammed the door in his face. I was content with how the day was going so far.

  Mads ran into 5th period right as the bell was ringing.

  "Nice of you to join us Madison." Mrs.Clarkson said.

  She nodded and came over to her seat, next to me.

  Learning, learning, learning

  Teaching, teaching, teaching

  Boring, boring, boring

  "Ok, it's time to turn in the homework." Mrs.Clarkson said going over to the first desk.

  When she got to Mads...

  "I don't have my homework." She said with her head down.

  "Why not?"

  "I lost it."

  Sure, she "lost it"

  "Again Madison?! What, does it just grow legs and walk away?"

  "No." She said shyly.

  "Well then what happens to it? It's not like people are taking it."

  That's exactly what it's like.

  "You need to learn to be more responsible." She said shaking her head.

  Mads nodded and Mrs.Clarkson gave her a new homework sheet.

When she was a safe distance away, "Who took it?" I said.

"I'll tell you after class."

"No, tell me now."

"No." She told me.

"Why?"

"Cause you're not going to like it."

"I'm not going to like it after class either."

"Well I don't want you to do anything stupid."

"Stupid? They're here, aren't they?"
