Before I could even process what she had said Karma had sprung into the air, a knife glinting in his hand. The girl-Blink I think she called herself- seemed to foresee his movement and quickly dodged to the side. Unperturbed he regained his footing, readjusting the knife in his hand. "Got yourself a toy ay?" Karma only smirked, "You bet," They then became a blur as he leapt at her knife swung in a fast arc. I heard a loud thunk as the butt of the pistol made contact with the blade, Blink grunted and pushed the pistol up probably hoping to get Karma in the head. Slickly leaning back, he flipped onto a bench behind him, knife not leaving his palm. What is he doing? he's going to get himself killed. I need to find help. Turning my head I noticed a barrier being set up nearby, The school staff and the majority of the students who made it out seemed to have holed up there. "Rin, Don't!"

Karma's voice rang out smooth and calm like he wasn't in the middle of a fight with a psychopath. "It's safer if you stay where I can see you," His eyes seemed to be alight with a strange ferocity I hadn't noticed before, almost like a bolt of lightning thundering through a completely dark and empty sky. The same paralysing feeling of weakness and fear ran through me igniting a small sense of loyalty to this strange boy who was trying to save me. "Okay," He nodded before turning back to the girl before him. "Then let's get on with it," With out a seconds hesitation he lunged at her the same time she threw a hidden blade at him. The blade missed hitting the wall behind where Karma had been standing but fortunately, his weapon had managed to inflict a large cut on her cheek.

"You're fast I'll give ya that," He smirked leading me to think he'd already known this. "Although, I don't have a lot of time to dispose of you before that old fool does, so I'm sorry but I'm going to have to cut this short," She once again held the gun strong in between both palms, her eyes were blank and fixed on karma's forehead. "What'd ya say? Right between the eyes?"

"And let you kill Rin? I don't think so," Why is my heart fluttering? Why is this boy so determined to make me live? I was knocked out of my reverie by the blinding glint of something silver gliding by my face and stabbing right into Blink's hand. "Shit, motherfucker!" I watched, eyes fixed on her as she bent over clutching her hand where the knife had gone straight through. "Rin are you okay? it didn't skim you did it?" He rushed towards me, hands enveloping my face as he checked for any signs of damage. "I'm so sorry, I'm so so sorry," confused I pushed him away, "You didn't get me I'm completely fine," He sighed, shoulders slumping in relief as he gave a crooked smile, "good,"

Turning back to the injured girl on the ground, he pulled out another knife from somewhere in his sleeve stopping when he was right over her. "Rin. Turn around." The seriousness in his tone scared me and I couldn't help but let my voice quiver. "What for?"

"Just do it!" No longer hesitating I swivelled around, clasping my shaking hands in each other. "Now, whatever you hear, don't turn around, understand?" The seriousness had dripped away into what I could only describe as pure malicious hate. "Yes Karma," It seemed as if he didn't need further validation as a scream soon tore through the afternoon haze, the sound of the knife ripping into what I presumed to be the girl's flesh soon joined the screams as I stood there shaking as the girl was murdered behind my back.

What nightmare have I gotten myself into?
