Beep! Beep! Beep!
The sound of Regina's alarm clock went off. She slowly opened her eyes and turned over.
"Turn it off." Ruby mumbled as she covered her ears with her pillow. Regina slammed her hand down on the snooze button and the clock stopped beeping. Regina slowly rolled out of her bed. Ruby on the other hand didn't move.
"Ruby!" Regina said shaking Ruby's shoulder. "Wake up. We have to get ready for school."
"Mmm..." Ruby said rolling away from Regina. "I don't wanna."
"I'll be right back." Regina said smirking.
Regina walked downstairs and grabbed a small bowl. She filled the bowl with cold water and walked back upstairs. She walked into her bedroom and went over to Ruby's side of the bed.
"Hey Ruby." Regina said lifting the bowl of water.
"What?" Ruby asked rubbing the sleep from her eyes. When she opened her eyes she saw Regina standing over her with a bowl of ice cold water. Before she could move Regina poured the water over Ruby. She shot up and wiped the water from her eyes.
"What the hell!" Ruby exclaimed getting up from the bed and ringing out her pajamas.
All Regina could do was laugh. She dropped the bowl and fell to the floor laughing. "I'll get you back for that."
Regina got up and caught her breath. "I'm sorry. You just wouldn't wake up."
Ruby smirked. "Well, I get my revenge anyway because you have to wear one of my outfits I bought for you today."
Regina smile turned into a slight frown. "Right." She rolled her eyes.
"Do you want to pick it out, or do you want me to pick it out for you?" Ruby asked.
"You can pick it out. I don't trust myself." Regina said.
Ruby looked through the bags of clothes. She looked through the bags for a while and finally decided on a deep red tank crop top with a zipper with two wide black fabric straps around the zipper. It was paired with a short black skater skirt, and three inch fake swade pumps that were the same deep red color as her top. And a faux leather jacket. Regina looked at the outfit and quickly put it on. She walked out of her walk in closet. Ruby turned around. "Damn, Gina! You look smokin hot!"
"I do?" Regina said looking down at herself.
"Yeah totally." Ruby said. "Makeup time."
"I think we should eat breakfast first."
Ruby and Regina walked downstairs. They smelt bacon on the stove. "Something smells good." Ruby said taking the smell of the bacon.
"Good morning girls. Breakfast is on the table. " Cora said turning her head. She saw what her daughter was wearing and her eyes widened and she did a double take. "Regina? Where did you get that outfit?"
Regina looked at her slightly sexy and badass outfit. "Oh, Ruby and I went shopping yesterday, and she picked this out for me."
"Huh." Cora said slightly narrowing her eyes. "I think you look very beautiful, Regina, but don't think you need to dress like this for a guy. You are already beautiful. You are also very smart, loving, and funny."
"Thanks mom. I love you." Regina said smiling.
"I love you too."
Regina and Ruby ate their food and out their dishes in the dishwasher. They walked back upstairs and into Regina's bathroom. Ruby had the Sephora bag and poured out all the stuff in her counter. "Ok. I was thinking a smokey eye, eyebrows, and a red matte lip. Sound good?" Ruby asked picking up the foundation.
"Yeah I guess. What about hair?" Regina asked looking at the different tubes of matte liquid lipsticks.
"I'll help you curl it." Ruby said plugging in her curling iron. "I have some contacts for you too. Can you put them in?"
"Um, uh, yeah, sure. I guess so." Regina said, hesitantly taking the case with the contacts.
Regina stood in front of her full wall mirror and carefully put in the contacts. She blinked a few times and her contacts were in. Ruby did Regina's makeup and Regina looked in the mirror. She'd never seen herself with so much makeup before. All she could do was stare. Eventually Ruby broke the silence. "Don't worry Gina. You look hot."
"I don't know about this. This isn't really me." Regina said toying with her skirt.
"It's only for the rest of the week. After that you can go back to your Harvard sweatshirts and leggings." Ruby said patting Regina's shoulder.
"Ok. Should we head to school now?"
"Yeah probably. Let's go."
Regina and Ruby headed out the door and started walking to school. Once they walked through the doors of the school, everybody stared at Regina and Ruby. Peoples' heads turned. Regina looked at Ruby with a nervous look on her face. "Why is everyone staring at us?" Regina whispered to Ruby.
"They're not staring at us. They're staring at YOU." Ruby whispered back.
As Ruby and Regina continued walking through the halls, Regina could hear guys whistling at her, she could feel many guys eyes staring at her. Regina and Ruby got to their lockers. When Regina closed locker she was startled by Emma, Killian, and Robin. "Regina?" Emma began. "What happened to you?"
Regina let out a big sigh. "Ruby wanted to dress me up like a Barbie doll, so I let her. She wanted to do an experiment to see if this changed the way people looked at me."
"Huh." Was all Emma could say.
"Well, you look good, love." Killian said gesturing to Regina's outfit and makeup.
Emma slapped Killian's chest.
"I'm just stating facts, love."
"How do you manage to slip the word 'love' into every sentence, Jones?" Regina asked raising an eyebrow.
"It's a gift, love." Killian said smirking. Regina rolled her eyes.
"You look amazing Regina." Robin said smirking. Regina turned towards Robin. She tried to hide her blush but it wasn't very convincing.
"Thanks Robin." Regina replied putting her hand on Robin's arm and rubbed his arm with her thumb. Robin took his other hand and rubbed her hand with his.
"I hate to break up this wonderful, heart felt moment, but we all need to get to class." Ruby said. Robin and Regina came crashing back into reality. They pulled away from each other.
"Yeah. Let's go." Emma said.
Everybody separated and headed to their classes.
———————————
Everyone met up at school at the bottom of the stairs. "Hey guys." Regina said walking out with Emma. Ruby, Killian, and Robin were all talking to each other. Ruby turned and smiled.
"So," Ruby said raising her eyebrow. "How was your first day in your new clothes?"
"It was..." Regina began, but was cut off my Emma.
"Oh my god. You should've seen how many guys were checking out Regina in the hallways." Emma said excitedly.
"Really? How many guys were staring at you?" Robin asked, he felt his cheeks get hot with a slight anger and embarrassment.
"Why jealous?" Emma asked raising an eyebrow and smirking.
"No," Robin defended. "Just curious."
"Well, let's just say that the boys at this school will be knocking down Regina's front door to get a date with her." Emma said.
"I gotta say, things are certainly different now." Regina said awkwardly. "But I think I might actually wear some of these clothes more often."
"Really?" Ruby said getting excited.
"Yeah, really."
"Do you guys want to head over to Granny's?" Regina asked.
"Sorry love we can't. We have a date tonight." Killian said wrapping his arm around Emma.
"Sorry Gina." Ruby said putting her hand on Regina's shoulder. "I have a history project."
"Robin?" Regina asked turning towards Robin.
"Yeah I can go." Robin said awkwardly.
"Alright. Bye guys. Emma, Killian, have fun on your date. Ruby have fun with your history project." Regina said waving.
"Bye guys." Emma said waving as she and Killian walked away.
Regina and Robin started walking, but someone stopped them from going any further. "Who's the hottie?" An accented voice asked.
"What do you want Will?" Robin asked glaring at his friend slightly.
Will's accent wasn't as refined as Robin's. He was a couple inches taller than Robin and had short dark brown hair and blue eyes. "I want to know who the hottie walking with you is." Will said looking Regina up and down. Just as Robin was about to answer, Regina cut in.
"In your dreams you scrawny English boy. I'm not for sale." Regina said glaring Will straight in the eyes. He only smiled wider.
"Ooh. She's a feisty one." Will said narrowing his eyes mockingly and smirking. "Hold on to this one Robbie."
Will walked away and Regina rolled her eyes. "And that is why I don't dress like this." Regina sighed gesturing to her outfit.
"I agree." Robin stated. "You're much more than a pretty face. But I feel like that's all all of the guys in our school think, now that you had Ruby dress you like this."
"Don't worry it's only for the rest of the week. And I'll let you know if any guys break my heart."
Robin couldn't help but think about what it would be like if Regina was with another guy. She was his world, his everything. Even though he'd never actually told her that, he knew, deep down she knew it too. Regina was the one person he looked forward to seeing everyday. He loved everything about her. Her long ebony hair, her smile, her eyes, her fiery attitude, even the little scar on her upper lip (which was one of the first things he noticed about her when they first met). Robin looked down at the sidewalk. He and Regina walked down the sidewalk in silence for a while. Regina noticed a sad look on her best friend's face. "Robin? What's wrong?" She asked putting her hand on his shoulder and stopping. He stopped too.
"Nothing." He lied.
"Robin we've been best friends since sixth grade. I know when you're sad or upset. You know you can tell me anything."
Robin looked up into Regina chocolate brown eyes. I could drown in her eyes. He thought. He gave her a small smile. "There's those adorable dimples I love seeing." Regina said teasingly. She wrapped her arms around his left arm, and rested her head on his shoulder. He placed a small kiss atop her head and rested his head on hers. They continued to walk down the street in silence. They never went to Granny's. The two friends walked back to Regina's house.
———————————
Regina and Robin were talking about school when Cora walked in with an crème colored envelope. "What's that?" Regina asked.
Cora jumped back a little, surprised to see Robin in her daughter's bedroom. "It's a wedding invitation."
"To who's wedding?" Regina asked tilting her head.
"Robert Gold and Belle French."
Regina and Robin's eyes went wide and looked at each other. "Seriously?" Regina's exclaimed. She felt like she was going to pass out.
"Yes."
"How did we even get invited?"
"Robert Gold is an old friend of mine, and he says that you're the best student he's ever taught."
Regina turned red. "When's the wedding?"
"It says December 14, in 3 years! And it's in Alaska."
"Alaska? Three years? Are we going?"
"Of course we are. And Robert said you could bring a plus one if you want, but decide quickly because I need to tell him."
"Can to decide a little later. I mean, the wedding is in three years. It's not tomorrow."
"Yeah, you're righ. Taken you time, just let me know when you've decided."
Regina thought about it for a moment. She could take Emma but she would probably want to go with Killian. And weddings aren't really her thing. Ruby could go but her Granny probably wouldn't let her go to Alaska. There was only one other person she could take. Robin. Cora turned on her heels and started to closed the door. Regina turned and looked at a Robin. "Robin?" She asked. Robin turned his head towards Regina. "Will you go to Mr. Gold and Miss French's wedding with me?"
Robin took both of Regina's hands in his. "Of course I will."
Regina gives Robin a small smile. They stared into each other's eyes for a moment. The moment seemed to last forever. Time stopped when Robin looked into her chocolate brown eyes. He could get lost in her eyes any day. It was the same for Regina. She could drown in his ocean blue eyes. Regina sighed at scooted away from Robin. "I should probably tell my mom you're coming."
"Yeah probably. And I should probably head home too. It's getting kind of late." Robin said looking at his watch. It was 6:02.
"Do you need a ride?" Regina asked before opening the door for Robin.
"Yeah sure."
Robin followed Regina downstairs to her kitchen. Cora wasn't in the kitchen so she went into her mother's office. The door was closed, so she knocked on the door. "Come in." She heard her mother say.
Regina opened the door. Her mom had her glasses on and was working at the computer. "Hey mom. Robin is going to be my plus one. And can you give Robin a ride home?" Regina asked.
"Of course." Cora said closing her computer.
Regina, Robin, and Cora got into her car. She started the engine and back out of their driveway. A few minutes later they arrived at Robin's house. He got out of the car and waved to Regina.
"Thank you for the ride Mrs. Mills." Robin said giving Cora a friendly smile.
"Your welcome dear. Tell your mother I said hello." Cora said waving back.
"I'll see you at school tomorrow Regina." Robin shouted. Regina could've sworn she saw him wink at her. She turned red. Her mom turned to her he and saw her daughter blush.
"You like him don't you?" Cora said smiling as she kept her eyes on the road.
"Wh-what are you talking about?" Regina stammered.
"I can tell you like him."
"Is it that obvious?" Regina asked sighing, and finally giving in.
"To me, yes."
"How so?"
"The way you look at him when he's not looking at you."
Regina blushed even harder.
They pulled into their driveway. Cora continued to talk. "I'm perfectly fine if you two ever want to date. It's your father you have to worry about."
"I though got he liked Robin." Regina said confused.
"He does. He just doesn't want his little girl growing up. And I have to agree with him, neither do I."
Regina hugged her mother. "Don't worry mom. You don't have to worry about any guys coming into my life anytime soon. The only guy in my life right now is daddy, and I'm trying to focus on school right now."
"Good for you sweetie. I love you."
"I love you too."
After Regina, Henry, and Cora all are dinner, Regina cleared her dishes from the table and went up to her room. She started getting ready for bed, taking what her mother said to heart. How she didn't want her little girl growing up. Regina took off her clothes and makeup and showered. She then slipped on a black tank top and pajama pants. She put her glasses on and slipped under her bed sheets. She grabbed her book from her nightstand and read for a while.
A couple hours later, she set down her book and took of her glasses. Setting them both on the nightstand. She turned off the light and lay in bed. Letting her thoughts of Robin wander. Her mind continued to wander until she fell into a deep asleep. Little did she know that Robin was thinking about her as he slowly drifted off to sleep.
