Chapter 6- Back to work

EMILY'S POV

I was doing the uneven bars and me hand slipped. I fell off the bars and landed on my wrist. "Shit" I muttered and then I got up. I knew that by the way that me wrist was feeling that I'd have to go to the hospital and get it checked out before I went back to work.

AT THE HOSPITAL

"Ah Ms Prentiss nice to see you again" Gina one of the receptionists politely said. "Hey Gina is Liz working because I had mother issues and I think I've done my wrist" I replied with a guilty look on my face. "Lemme guess. Your mother came into work you started yelling at each other she then raped and hit you and you went to the gymnastics arena and fell off the uneven bars?" she questioned woth worry and confidence in her voice but by the way she looked at me it was consistant worry. "Yeah spot on. Hold on. How do know I do gymnastics?" I questioned confused. Before Gina could reply. "Em hey whats up why you here?" Liz Emily's main nurse asked in one breath. "Do I really need to tell you or can you figure it out yourself?" I asked with some sarcasm in my voice. "C'mon straight through and when I'm done you better go back to work because you colleagues have been here looking for you" Liz said and I nodded. "Oh SHIT! The briefing. OMG if someone dies because of me being here I think I'll have to shoot myself!" I replied in one breath and I started having one of my breathing attacks where I say somwthing so quick I loose my breath and start panicking. "Em you'll be fine. Is there someone I can call so they can come and pick you up?" She said worriedly because she doesn't think that the way that my parents treat me is right and that I worry so much about the victums of a case because I see myself in that position with Jay all the time and it freaks me out.

"Ok Em your wrist is just badly bruised but you'll be fine. You have severe vaginal tearing because your mother had sharp nails pribably and the bruises on your stomach and face will clear in no time but here's the makeup to cover them for your case so that the cops there don't hang their shit on you like they used to because they felt sorry for you and I know that you hate that" She told me with the voice she uses on me all the time. Before I leave she gives me a lollypop because she knows they calm me down after getting abused by my father. "Thanks Liz I owe ya one" I replied smiling. "Okay when you get back coffee and lunch your shout" she replied sarcastically.

BACK AT WORK

I walk into the bullpen and no ones there. I walk to the bathroom and apply the makeup that Liz gave me and went to the conference room and started looking at my file and one of the victums looked familiar. It hit me: "Adelle" I almost yelled!

The team were just walking out of the elevator when they heard me yell. "Guys that sounded like Emily" Hotch spoke up. "If it is we should start the briefing and quick before she runs again" JJ replied. They walked into the conference room and saw Emily with a tear running down her face as she stared blankly at the wall and they also noticed the bandage on her wrist. They were so confused they didn't know what to do. "E are you okay" Derek asked. The next thing I stand up and jump into Derek's arms. He protectively catches me and sits down. "You wanna talk bout it princess?" He softly asks. I shake my head and reply. "Hotch we NEED! to take this case. I can't explain why now but we do so can we quickly do the briefing whilst I've settled down?" I asked with a pleading voice. "D can you please keep holding me?" I asked "Yeah Princess and maybe more when we're alone" Derek whispered in my ear. She smirked to herself and her stomach started doing flip flops. So the briefing was 3-6 year old girls were getting killed but by the MO it was for no reason at all. It took all of my strength to not burst out crying. "Wheels up in 10" Hotch's voice had a lot of sympathy in it due to the fact he has a 4 year old son.
