(Drew's POV)

He was here.

He was but a couple of steps from us. It was only a matter of time before he caught out scent and then everything would go to hell.

Andrea had fallen to her knees the moment she stepped foot into the room. Mal crawling back into her shell, forcing Andy to claw her way back from the hole she had shut herself in. It took me a moment to realize what was happening, but his scent was unmistakable.

Where Simon went, our father followed. Well, it was more the other way around, but it all led to what we both feared. Our father was somewhere in this room. That meant, even Crixus himself couldn't protect us. Not is our father found us.

"Drew?" We heard his voice. Relief washed over me, but my sister continued to hide herself further into my body. "Drea? Baby...are you alright?" Crixus' voice was soft and smooth. He knelt down in front of us, his hand reaching for my sister but stopping when her body started to shake.

Andrea was going to shift. Right here, right now, in front of everyone.

There it was. His scent, our fathers scent. It was so close. It was getting closer and closer. Had he found us?

I grabbed onto my sister and held her to my body trying to calm her as best I could. I listened to her heart beat, willing her to match her rhythm with mine. Her head rested against my chest as my hand curled in her hair.

"He is here." I said to Crixus. "He is coming." I told him.

He needed no explanation. My mate understood exactly what I was saying and without hesitation order everyone out. The music stopped, the noise ceased, voice died down. But no one left.

"Now!" The alpha commanded. No one spoke, no one said anything, all that was heard were the clicks of the female's high heels and the shuffling of the men all walking towards the nearest exit.

My heart too silenced for but a second. It was no longer thumping against my chest, begging to explode. I couldn't even hear my sisters her beat. For a moment I was afraid that she was no longer alive. That the surprise of's seeing our cousin and knowing that our father was nearby, had stilled her heart forever. But that wasn't possible.

I looked up and saw Crixus by my side. I reached up for his hand and intertwined my fingers with his, holding my sister with my other arm. Her heart beat slowed down to a steady beat, her body no longer shook violently. My nerves had finally settled down, but the unsettling feeling in my stomach had only grown. There was no possible way that he had walked into this room and not sensed either my sister or me. It was impossible. The bond between the three of us, regardless of whether it was a good thing or a bad thing, was strong. Far too strong for us to go unnoticed. He was going to come back. I knew he was.

He wasn't one to let go of what belonged to him. No matter how much Crixus promised us that he would protect Andrea and I, it didn't matter. Our father still believed that we belonged to him. That Andrea belonged to him. So long as he believed that, we would never be free.

Whatever he was planning, it wasn't good. Not even my mates hand, his presence, his smile, his loving eyes, could take away the growing pit in my stomach, knowing that this wasn't the end.

"It's okay...the room is empty." Crixus said to me, when he tried to pull me to my feet.

I looked down at my sister and realized that she too was staring at Crixus. He smiled kindly at her, but didn't wait a second to pull her away from me and into his arms.

Andrea easily followed. It wasn't but a second later that Gabriel walked in. He bowed his head and then turned to look at Crixus. They stared at each other for a long while. The conversation was long and although I couldn't understand what they were saying, due to not being marked yet, it was easy to tell that Gabriel looked very concerned.

When they were done, Gabriel once again bowed his head and then Crixus turned to look at me. He pulled me into his arms and hugged me tightly.

In a matter of minutes, Gabriel showed up again.

"I want you to stay here. I'll be right back, I just need to get a couple of things and then everything will be better." What is all that he said, before letting go of my sisters and then walking out the same door Gabriel had walked in from.

When he said he would only be gone for a little while, he meant it. When I saw him again, he was standing by the door he had exited only minutes before. Two duffel bags in each hand and a change of clothing for each of us.

Crixus instructed both of us to quickly change and then meet him outside the door. From where I stood with my sister, I could hear him giving Gabriel instructions as to what to do with the guests. Thinking about it now, with a level head, I realized that commanding a room full of Alphas and Lunas to just leave without explanation wasn't probably the best thing to do. Especially when so many of the alphas had traveled such a long distance to come and meet two people they had only heard of recently.

To say that the room was packed was an understatement. Thinking about it now, maybe their father hadn't traced their sent. There were so many people, so many different scents, so many different Alphas and Lunas from so many different places, that maybe it was impossible. Maybe they were just overreacting. Maybe this was for nothing.

But with our father, we never really knew. We could never really be sure. It wouldn't matter if one thousand, one million, or even one billion people gathered in one room. So long is Andrea was in that room with with those other people, along with our father...we could never be sure.

So we did as Crixus said. We changed and then opened the door and walked out together hand-in-hand. He stopped his conversation midsentence, picked up his bags, took each of us by his side, and then walked towards the front doors of the pack house. When we got outside, the chilly air nipped at our skin. The rest of our bodies were safely tucked away in sweatpants and oversized hoodie's, which were provided by our mate.

There was a large truck parked outside, waiting for us as the wind blew back-and-forth. Crixus walked up to the car, open the trunk and threw in the duffel bags. We waited silently for him to instruct us to get in. He did. The three of us got into the backseat. In front of us sat the driver who looked at my sister and I, for but a second and then pulled up the black glass which separated us from him.

"Where are we going?" Andrea spoke for the first time.

Crixus turned to look at her and grabbed her hand in his.

"Far away. Far, far away, where no one will be able to hurt us." Was his response and for the first time in a very long time...I wasn't afraid.

(Authors note)

So the party didn't go as we planned. But what do you think? Did Crixus do the right thing? What do you think he planned with Gabriel?

Let me know your thoughts.

I hope you all enjoyed

Love you all
