Chapter 12 Tomorrow

(Andrew's POV)

My sister and I were walking hand in hand with our mate, as we made our way back into our packs territory

Andrea was crying as we walked around our pack members bodies

So many of them were gone. Everything was destroyed. So many lives were lost...and for what?

All of a sudden, the front door opened and out ran a group of men and women

The children all ran to Andy, wrapping their arms around her, as if she could shield them off from any and every wrong-doing in the world

She extended her arms to them, embracing as many children as her short arms would allow her

I heard a woman scream from behind us

We all turned, to see a young woman, not older than 19 or 20

She had her arms draped around a dead man on the ground, just feet away from us

She was screaming out in such pain, that it was transmitted to every person outside. It was her mate, laying dead in her arms and she couldn't bring him back

I turned to look at my own mate

He wrapped one arm around me, kissing my cheek

"Don't worry" he whispered in my ear

I wanted to cry, I wanted to crawl up in a ball and just cry

He held me tighter against him, shielding me away from the wailing woman

"Gabe" Crixus called out

Our mate's beta showed up in front of us

"You know what to do" Crixus said and grabbed Andrea and I

We both walked inside

"You two don't have to worry" he told us, once we were inside his bedroom

Andrea was looking down at her hands

"I mean it, you guys don't have to worry. What happened today, will never happen again" he tried to assure us

Before he could say anything else, Andrea got up on her feet and walked over to Crixus

She stood in front of him, looking up into his eyes

She got closer to him and wrapped her arms around his neck and she started whispering in his ear

I could hear every word

"We won't go, we won't leave. Andrew and I will stay by your side, but you might have to give me time. Seeing that women, cry over her mate...I never want that to be us. I never want to be in the position where I'm looking down at your body. I want to be with you, I really do....just" She sighed "Just be patient with me." she said, still in his arms

Crixus wrapped his arms, just above her waist and lightly lifted her up

"For now, let's just sleep. Tomorrow, we will introduce you to to my pack...to our pack and we will assure them, that together, nothing like this will ever happen again" Crixus smiled at us, placing each hand on our cheek and caressing it slightly

"Tomorrow then" I said, smiling

We both turned to look at Andrea and waited

"Tomorrow" she whispered
