SHE WAS MOTIONLESS AS THE WORLD AROUND HER FELL APART.

Her ringing ears blocked out the desperate cries from her friends as they watched her fade out of existence. The glowing light still hit her lover's face, which was now filled with remorse like he was sitting alone in all of his regrets.

He thanked her in a whisper and the girl's hand trembled as she backed away from him. He removed the lightsaber from her heart and her knees buckled, knocking her off balance.

She squeezed the boys hand, looked in his eyes for one final time, before she let herself fall onto the cool metal of the bridge.

Silence fell around the room as the girl slowly closed her eyes. Blood protruded from her chest, her heart rolling out of her open wound and falling into the black abyss below her. She breathed heavily for a moment, trying to catch the last chance to taste the sweet ambrosia of the cool oxygen. Suddenly though, she gave up, and let her mouth close. Her head was pounding and her body trembled violently.

Arabella Kyber was a girl who had never wanted to die. Ever since childhood, she had dreamed of growing old with the love of her life. She wanted to raise her own family, travel the galaxy, and live until the day she was too old and decrepit to continue. She had always fantasised a long life for herself—one that saved her from so much heartbreak.

But that life was only ever going to be a daydream. This was reality, and in her reality, she wouldn't get what she wanted. She wouldn't visit every planet in the galaxy. She wouldn't start her own family. She wouldn't get to grow old with her love, for he was gone and would never return. She knew that now.

Once upon a time, the girl didn't want to die, but she didn't want to live in a world like this. She had always feared death, imagining it to be so painful, but when the time came and the life faded from her eyes, dying was easier than falling asleep.

that's it guys. my heart is beating out of my chest and my eyes are prickling with tears as i write this. i will forever love arabella. she has quickly become one of my favourite characters i've created, as there is something about her that is so loving and forgiving that it's beautiful. i had this ending in mind before i started writing this book, and over the past week i've written this story, i fell in love with her. a part of me really didn't want to kill arabella off, but it's just like they say; the most beautiful stories are bound for tragedy. i hope you all liked this book as much as i did ^.^
