*No longer on hold*
Hey, guys, I'm putting this story on hold for a couple weeks to actually plan it out and possibly edit a little, but also to write something more light and happy, because wow, this got dark fast. Anyway, so sorry about that, because I've skipped so many updates, July especially, but I feel like the story's not going the direction I want it, so I'm going to try and fix that. If I change anything drastically, I'll let you guys know in one of these author's notes. I hate doing this, because I love posting for you guys, and I love your comments, especially the ones like "YOU ARE A TERRIBLE HUMAN" with totally good intentions because I've gotten something like that from multiple people. Chewbecca17 and KarinaRamirez5 I'm looking at you ;)
I love all my readers though - but especially those that comment. The best comments are KarinaRamirez5 's because they're usually stating things she's hoping for, predicting, or potentials and stuff, and a whole bunch of other stuff I can't think of right now. Keep being awesome!
Chewbecca, your comments are just plain great :)
Also I neglected to mention SingACh0rus but he's awesome, too. I think I'm gonna start dedicating chapters to cool people ...
Anyway, I know these author's notes are boring and just plain meh, but I do kind of want your feedback - especially you guys who haven't read my stuff before or have no idea what Monstercat is. Even though that has nothing to do with the book, maybe it might be influencing fans' reading? I have no idea what I'm saying ...
Okay, so ... why? That's the question. Why? Why do you like it? Why do you dislike it? Just ... why?
Please answer this part:
And also, I've become very emotionally attached to most of these characters (except Her. I want to run Her over with a train), but even though I love Echo, I'm finding it very hard to become attached to him, and that's an essential part of writing. I guess I'm too hung up on Phantom ... so I need help. He's a main character, so he's important. Do you guys like him? What would make him a better, more believable character? He's not as rounded as I want him to be, and that's bad because main characters can't be static. For those of you who have read Rebel, why is Phantom more loveable than Echo? I've been trying to figure that out for a while (one of the reasons why I'm putting this on hold).Yeah, um ... anyway, thanks for that? I know that last one's a really hard question, and you're probably thinking "dude I'm not your editor just write the story already" because that's what I'm thinking, and I'm asking it. But that's what I've been struggling with, so hope you can help!
Thanks for the support this far (almost 1,000 reads!), and happy reading!
(Also because I hate leaving you on author's notes, I posted Chapter Twenty-Two for your enjoyment before I go!)
