This is It
It had been like this for days.
Fights broke out constantly among the Raiders, fist fights, arguments, cold shoulders, any sort of fight there could be - anything except for weapons. For that, Rogue was extremely grateful.
His rebellion wasn't so quiet anymore. He should've known it would escalate quickly. Now that it was big enough, the first few had stopped saying "Rogue's rebellion" and simply said "the rebellion". Most of the Raiders, whether they were on his side or not, had no idea who had started all of this. He hoped that Tristam didn't figure it out before he acted.
Noise knew that the fights had started because of him, but for some reason, he didn't ever mention that. All he did was turn people against Echo. Rogue wasn't even sure if he was on Tristam's side or not.
Rogue needed to act soon - that's all he knew for certain. If he didn't do something, the others would take it into their own hands, and Tristam could get seriously hurt. He didn't want to hurt him. After all, he was his best friend. The others may not believe him, but he didn't care what they thought. He was rebelling against Tristam to help him - to get him out of power so that he could take care of that thing in his head. What did Echo call it? Solar - the consciousness that was taking over.
He and Puppet were still working out the details, but the tentative plan was to put a group of people in charge, instead of just one, so that the responsibility fell on multiple instead of one. He hadn't told that to any of the others, and they only knew some "mysterious" Raider would be in charge, and for that reason, he hoped they'd all agree.
"Rogue!" Puppet called, shoving into his blanket tent and startling him out of his thoughts. "Rogue, I just heard something - it was Noise talking to Tristam - something about you - Braken said something, too -"
"Slow down, Puppet," Rogue interrupted, sitting up from where he was sprawled out on the ground. "You heard Noise?"
"Yeah, him, Tristam, and Braken were all talking - I didn't get a lot, 'cause I didn't stick around." The other Raider paused and ran his robotic hand through his hair with a sigh.
Rogue noticed that he did that a lot, especially with the recent pressure. He'd been working behind the scenes more than most people knew, and he was constantly running errands and raiding the mostly empty Alpha camp by himself. A damper had been put on his bright personality, and for that, Rogue felt terrible.
"Noise said this, exactly," Puppet continued. "'There's no way I'm working with this freak.' Then Braken mumbled something, and Tristam told them to get it done quickly. Noise then said that he'd be glad to have him out out the way."
"You think they were talking about me?"
"Yeah. Something's happening, and fast. It's not good." Puppet brushed through his hair again, this time leaving a black streak of oil through the blond strands. He glanced at the leak in his hand and swore softly. "There's one more thing on my to-do list. How are Nitro and WRLD doing?"
"WRLD's doing better. He still can't walk, but his other injuries are healing well. Nitro ..." Rogue paused, thinking about what had happened a few days ago. Tristam had forced the younger Raider to shock WRLD until his friend passed out, demanding he told him something, vital information of some sort. Rogue had been in a position like that, once before.
