- Later that night -

We were all gathered in the living room to watch a movie. My mom let Drew pick since he was the 'special guest.' "Pick a good one," Hayden said, while raising her eyebrows and smiling.

"Shut up, Hayden." I glared at her, making her send one back. "Girls, stop it. You two constantly bicker. Can we go one night without you two girls going back and forth with each other?" She sternly looked at both of us before bringing her attention back to the TV screen.

"Don't you have Netflix or anything?" Drew asked while putting the remote in his lap. "We did, until Mom cut it off." Hayden rolled her eyes before turning to Mom. "For the five-hundredth time, can you please turn it back on?"

"I wasn't going to pay for something we barely watch, Hayden. Ever since your father and I got divorced I've been having financial problems. We can't afford everything you want." She replied, causing another eye roll from my sister.

. . .

After we had decided on a movie and settling down, I decided to head upstairs halfway through. "Where are you going?" Hayden whispered to me when my foot hit the first step. "Upstairs, where do you think I'm going?" She turned back around and I walked up the steps. Closing the door behind me I hopped on my bed to read over my letter again its sent off tomorrow.

Finished re-reading the letter I placed it back on my desk and fell back into my pillow - falling asleep.

 . . .

"I hope my letter's fine, I don't want to sound weird when he reads it." I told Nicolette. I didn't believe she was listening while she put her lipstick on. "Yep. What's his name anyway?" She put the cap back on and put the lipstick in her pocket.

"Isaac." I replied as I traced the frame of the windows adjacent to me. "do you think you could tell him about me in your next letter?" she grinned. "No." I glared at her then turned back to window. "Okay then.. but you'll change your mind soon." I gave her another glare.

"What?" She sent a confused look. "I don't even know if what he looks like yet. I don't even know if his name really is Isaac, and I also don't know if he's even real at all."

"You're right. You never know."

"Did you even listen to a word I said?"

"Yep, all of it." I sighed and slumped back in the seat. I cannot wait until this bus ride is over.

About five minutes later I felt the bus come to a halt. Those squeaking doors opened slowly and the students started to exit the bus. I grabbed my backpack and heading to my first period class.

"I'll see you after class." I told Nicolette as I approached the door. She nodded and I watched as she turned down another hallway. I made my way over to my regular seat when I saw someone as sitting in it. I hadn't seen them before, so they might've been new. I looked closer to see it was a girl with dark hair.

"Hey, um, sorry but this is my seat." I told her. "I'm so so sorry! I didn't know. I'll find another seat. I'm Cara, by the way." She said quickly. I confusingly looked at her. Definitely a new student.

I sat down in the chair and class soon started. Ms. Clements began to write someone on the whiteboard.
'Letters due today' stared at everyone as it sat on the board.

"Okay, everyone. I hope you all have your letters ready to turn in. I will be mailing them this time only, after it is on you all to mail them. When you're ready you may place them on my desk." She tapped the designated spot and everyone rushed to the front. I smiled at my letter before I placed it in the pile.

. . .
- 3 days later -

Nicolette kept on asking me if had gotten a reply from Isaac yet. I think she already liked him even without seeing what he looks like - also knowing absolutely nothing about him.

I opened the mailbox to find a bunch of junk mail containing coupons and others. Underneath an advertisement there was a small white folder which had my name on it.

To; Valencia Acoste

from; Isaac Lahey

Due to my excitement I tore through the envelope to read the letter.

dear valencia,
it's really wonderful that we'll be writing to each other for the next two weeks. maybe even longer?

i'll start with a few things about me. i play lacrosse at my school (my number is 14). i have an obsession with scarves, i'll wear one even if it's hot outside. i love scarves that much.

i am very fascinated by taylor swift. ask me whatever you want to know about her.

my favorite color is blue, also. (what a coincidence that we like the same color.)

i think that's about it, i may or may not know much about myself :)

- hope to talk to you again,
isaac :)
(p.s.) you don't sound weird to me at all. you sound very adorable.

I smiled after I read the letter. We'll definitely be talking longer than two weeks. Maybe I could learn some things about lacrosse from him, who knows?

At least he said I sounded adorable to him :)
