Damon, Stefan, and Bonnie had since been unsuccesful with any tracking spell to find Elena. Something was counteracting the spell each and every time, increasing in force. The message was quite clear; that if they had any hopes in finding Elena, they'd have to go look for her and ask around. Damon had been in a very irritated mood for days, hurt by the fact that Elena hadn't tried to contact any of them, especially him.
Stefan barges through the front door, Damon and Bonnie both sitting lost in thought; hurry and walk over to him. Damon asks, "What is it brother?"
He replies, " I think I have a lead."
"What?" ask Bonnie and Damon in unison.
"Well," Stefan continues, "Some people thought they had seen Elena 4 days ago, hurrying through the French quarter, I asked if they knew what direction she was headed too, but it seems they were compelled to forget." "There were also a few dead bodies left in an allyway last night."
Damon interuppts, "Well, we know the dead bodies aren't Elena, and we know she didn't leave anyone to die. Furthermore, all we have to do now is split up through the French quarter and wait for her to come back through."
Stefan turns to walk away, he heads upstairs to his room and shuts the door behind him. He sits down at his antique desk, and begins to write:
"Last night was even harder for me to stop, I'm getting out of control, and as much as I would hate to admit it, I feel amazing. I am starting to lose myself, and for some reason it's different this time. I want to slip away and be something new, something else. I find myself caring less and less about everything really, accept Elena. She's got this hold on me, and no matter how hard I try to forget my feelings ever existed for her, they are still there. The bloodlust is all I can think about, right now it's taking all I have in me not to go rip the city of New Orleans apart. I know what I am becoming, Stefan and The Ripper both love it just the same..........."
