Date Night Special

*~*~*

Breathe in. Breathe out. In. Out. In. Out. Repeat.

I stood in the outfit that Ness and Sarah had picked out for me at the top of the stairs. My shoulder-less daisy print top was thankfully both slightly loose around my little muffin top and extremely soft and comfortable.

The high-waisted white skinny jeans were accessorised with a gold chain of charms that you would probably see on a Paul's Boutique bag, except this wasn't made of some cheap plastic.

I padded down the stairs in my black dolly shoes, a deep breath accompanying every step. My mother waited at the bottom for me, excitedly waving her hands. As expected, my father was not here to see his daughter off for her first date. My mind glossed over it and I let the sounds of my mother's squeal pierce my ear drums.

God, why did I tell them?

"Okay, darling, do you have everything you need?" She eyed my small white bag that fit my purse, lip gloss and socks, but only my purse, lip gloss and pair of socks. My phone always stayed in my pocket.

"Yes, mother," I hugged her with one arm and kept my other one holding the strap of my bag, "Thanks, see you," I turned to leave and she pulled me in.

"You've grown up so fast," She croaked.

"Ew, no emotional crap right now, eyeliner!" I laughed, "Any advice before I go?" I asked, knowing it would give her a chance to use her patented phrase and make her smile again.

"If you've got it, flaunt it dearie! And you've definitely got it!" She cheered. I giggled and left the house to meet Harry out the front, in the BMW again.

"Harry, the BM's so flashy," I whined, shivering from the wind and doing a little run to get to his car.

"I knew you'd be cold," He announced, producing my leather Red or Dead jacket from the passenger side of the car. When I got to him, he held out one arm at a time to put it on me.

I forced down a smile, "Thanks, but still the-" I started to argue but stopped at the puppy look on his heavenly face. I sighed. "Fine then," I snorted and got into the car.

"You look beautiful tonight, Alyssa," Harry always complimented me. He just did it every day so I figured he didn't really mean most of them and just wanted to see me smile, but I think that's even nicer, so I smile even more. This one, however, was so sincere in the way he said it that he made me believe it and I lit up like a lighthouse.

Yet, I couldn't help but bat it away, "I'm in jeans, Harry, I wouldn't use beautiful." I stated as he silently started the engine.

I got a for-God's-sake-Alyssa-would-you-just-take-the-freaking-compliment look from him as he responded with a simple, "I would," Still sincere. I bit my lip and beamed. That was my cue to accept it and stay quiet - until the I chose to play 'Meet the Vamps' and I sang like I was in the band.

"Hey, Princess, I'll just drive you right up to the door." Harry said in a soothing voice.

"I'm going to fuck up tonight," I muttered.

"Did you just swear?" Harry asked, astonished.

"You know I swear. Don't tell my parents. Bigger issues," I replied.
