I look at my bed. 3 of the most important people in my life sat on it. Tears instantly fill my eyes as I realise how hard saying goodbye would be. Before I had a chance to speak to Shannon or Devan, Shannon gets up from my bed and starts to move towards my bedroom door. I grab her hand. "Shannon" I start, but before I had chance to finish the sentence I had begun, Shannon interrupted. "You do know that I was offered the place, but I gave it up so my dad could marry your mum, and had enough money to pay for the wedding. I gave that place up for you. So you could pursue your dreams, I knew how much you wanted it."
By this point tears were streaming from her eyes. I was utterly shocked. If I had known that Shannon gave up the place for me, I wouldn't have taken the offer. All I wanted was to apologise and hug her, but it was too late. She had already left the room. I heard faint cried from the hallway. I turn to Collins and devan and see that Collins is desperate to go and comfort his girlfriend. Without saying a word, I nod and he leaves the room. I look back at Devan. He is speechless. I sit next to him on my bed and rest my head on his shoulder. He kisses the top of my head and I look up to meet his eyes. "What do I do Devan, help me?!" He doesn't say anything, he just pulls me back into his chest and I cry into his black sweater.
That night I lay away questioning a lot and thinking. I look at my phone and check the time. It read 2:17am. I also check to see if I had any messages from Collins, Devan or Shannon. Nothing. I return my phone back to my bedside table and lay in silence. I think for a little longer before checking the time again. And again. And again. I find myself checking the time for it must have been the 10th time, but it hadn't changed very much. The minutes move one by one, very slowly. I have to message Shannon I thought.
