it's august 9.
registration day.
i run down stairs at 5:30 to grab a pop tart.
i absolutely hate pop tarts but i need something to eat.
my mom comes down in her bright pink butterfly robe.
"you're up early kiddo."
"of course i am! i have to have a perfect picture!" i reply.
"you always have beautiful year book pictures hun" mom says as she kisses me on the forehead and gives me a tight squeeze.
my mom and i don't have a special bond.
not in my opinion.
she doesn't really get me.
my dad doesn't get me either.
the only person who does get me are my friends and my 16 year old sister dakota.
i can tell her anything.
she's a brat at times but, gotta love her.
by the time i make it into my bathroom upstairs, i try to figure out what to do with my hair.
i shut the door and turn on some justin bieber music.
i take out my curling iron and let it heat up.
as im applying all my makeup, im taking little bites of that disgusting pop tart.
im finally so grossed out with my pop tart, i run down stairs again and pour a hot cup of coffee.
my dad walks up behind me.
"since when do you drink coffee?"
he says sarcastically.
"since forever dad."
i reply in a snippy tone.
it's now 6:00 am.
registration is at 8:30, and kenzie will be here at 7:00 to help eachother get ready.
as im separating my hair to curl it, someone knocks on my bathroom door.
"yes?" i say in a annoyed voice.
"can i come in?" dakota asks.
"sure." i say.
she then walks in.
"hey, do you wanna borrow an outfit?"
"sure..what's the catch?" i say curiously.
"there is no catch." she says while laughing.
"alright, what would look good on me?"
i ask her with a big smile.
my sister dakota and i are the same size.
we share clothes all the time.
although she's a sophomore she's very tiny.
she pulls me into her messy room.
we walk into her closet.
she pulls off a hanger her miss me jeans.
"are you sure?" i ask.
"they're too small for me anyways, i want you to have them. they look better on you anyways!" she says in a happy voice.
"oh my gosh! thank you so much!"
i run into the bathroom and try them on right away.
they fit perfectly.
