I want to climb across this table and tear him apart. He's a monster, making someone do this. I look at Jace and see that his face is ashen. He doesn't have to save me, if he goes after Caleb instead of giving me the cure I won't hate him. If he saves me he'll only be saving one life while letting so many others die at Caleb's hand. If I die while so many others are saved I would die thinking that so many others would get the chance to live.

Jace pushes his chair away from the table and stands up. He looks at me and seems to stare right through me. What is he thinking? He suddenly looks back at Caleb.

 "Have you made your decision?" Caleb asks him.

Jace solemnly nods at him. He starts walking towards where Caleb is at.

 "You better hope that he's making the right choice," Caleb looks at me and grins before standing up.

He stands up and puts his hands behind his back. He pulls his hands back from behind his back. He is holding the cure to the poison in one hand and a knife that is pointed towards himself in the other.

 "What is your choice? Kill me and let Clary die? Or will you choose to save Clary and let me escape, potentially letting me kill innocent people in the process?" Caleb asks Jace once he reaches him.

He holds out both of his hands, offering both of the objects to Jace. Jace doesn't even ponder for a second before reaching for the vial of liquid.

 "Are you sure that this is the choice that you want to make?" Caleb asks him one final time.

 "I'm sure," Jace says, trying to sound confident but his voice falters a bit.

Caleb just shrugs before carefully giving Jace the cure. No! He should kill him, not save me. I try to tell Jace to stop but no words come out. Instead I am greeted by the feeling of suffocation. It feels like my throat has closed up all of the way. I feel like I'm dying, I'm fighting for the air that my body won't let me get. I slam one of my hands down at the table and dig my nails into it as my body starts to shake violently from the lack of oxygen. Jace rushes over at me and I see Caleb smile as he turns away from the table and exits the way that he came into the room.

My lips are shaking so much that when Jace tries to give me some that if just dribbles out of my mouth and onto my dress.

 "Clary, please!" Jace begs.

I can't do anything, and I hope he knows that. I'm not really in control of myself anymore. Whatever it is I'm doing, it's just whatever I'm doing. Jace forces my mouth open all the way and pours it in. He removes my hands from my throat and kind of rubs my throat, trying to coax the cure down it. It's cold as it runs down my throat, I would probably shiver if my body was convulsing.

My body is shaking so much that I can't focus on any particular object. Everything becomes blurry. I feel Jace, probably Jace pick me up. I don't know if it's the cure working or if I'm at the very end but my eyelids start to feel heavy. I try to keep my eyes open but I drift to sleep.

~~~
I slowly open my heavy eyelids and look at the ceiling above me. It's completely white and blank, except for a light a little bit to the right of me that is. Am I dead? I don't feel dead at the very least. I try to sit up but my body feels more or less like jelly. Or the feeling of a foot that's asleep, except for my whole body.
 "Clary?" I hear a voice to my right that I know belongs to Izzy.
I try to turn my head but my neck feels like something is holding it in place. I open my mouth to answer her but all that comes out is a God-awful croak.
