"Princess of Euden! I challenge you to a duel."

"Your ignorance and haughtiness is really pissing me off. Why should I fight you!?"

Jake ran over to the girl. "What's happening?" he said surprised and worried.

The girl ignored him and kept her eyes locked with mine.

"Fight me, so I can prove that our family name is greater!"

"Ugh! I don't care about that stuff! But seriously, you need to shut up about this princess stuff. We're in a NONMAGE area if you haven't noticed, idiot. I can't have everyone involved in this stuff!"

Her doll face darkened but then she looked up and smiled a mean smile.

"Fine." She sneered. "If you win I won't mention this 'stuff' again. In fact I'll make it an even better deal. My clan will be loyal to yours if you win BUT if I win you must admit that our clan is the greater clan!"

She really pissed me off! "Fine!" I yelled right back at her. "I ac-"

"HOLD it! Hold it right there!" It was Jake with his arms up telling us to calm down. "Caramell! You can't even cast a single spell! You can't possibly fight her."

I cringed a little. He was right. But I didn't care.

"Butt out Jake."

"But Car-"

"I said Butt out!" I turned to the new girl. "I accept!"

The girl's wand appeared. I noticed her wand was rather a staff which was the same color as her eyes. The funny thing was, though, there was no stone set at the top like there was on most staffs. I remember the teacher mentioning something about that. She began to set up a ward and Jake was knocked away by the force field. I gulped at the power. He started banging against the force field but it didn't do any good. He got up frustrated and began to run.

"Princess of Euden, Let us begin." She said.

She closed her eyes and began chanting another spell. My stomach felt cold. Darn what do I do now! I've never been in a duel! Way to lose control Caramell!

Her eyes flew open. Crap!

"Force Blast of Emeralde!" The flames came at me. I guess I'll have to use karate. I ran at the green blast coming at me. "Haaaaaaa. Hiiiiy!" I said as I tried to kick the blast which was a bad idea. It hurt my leg and sent me flying back. Damn. Another couple of blast came at me. I tried to get up but it was no use. Bam! Bam! Bam! Owwwwwwwww! I tried to move my legs. OWWW. I can't even move my legs because they hurt so much! I felt the tears start to well up in my eyes. What have I done? I felt like crying out for help and saying that this was all a big mistake or something. I felt like screaming that I didn't want this, none of this, in the first place. I wanted to quite being a princess and to be a normal girl. All of a sudden I felt something cold around my neck. I grabbed hold of it and looked down to see what it was. It was my blue stoned necklace! A tear fell on the blue stone. It became warm and gave a faint pulsed glow. I looked at it a bit dumbounded not understanding. That's the first time its done anything!....The first time I've done any kind of magic...even if I havne't really done much. That's right, I thought feeling hopeful. There's a first time for everything!
