Newt's P.O.V
"Where is that noise coming from?", Tina asked me.
"I'm not quite sure, but it sounds familiar.." I replied in thought.
"I'll look in Queenie's room and the upstairs rooms. You can look in the bathroom and the kitchen. If you see anything, let me know", Tina ordered politely. I looked at her in awe; I was amazed at how well she felt confident with herself when giving commands. I mean, no wonder she's an Auror.
I nodded my head in agreement as I heard her going up the mahogany steps. I decided to check by the bathroom first since it was closer to me. I turned the doorknob and walked in. I started to become a bit uncomfortable as it just came to my realization I was inside a girl's restroom for the first time. I looked around, taking in the surroundings of various smells such as lavender soap, most presumably from Queenie and Tina's fresh clothes being laundered themselves using magic. The scent relaxed me. Don't get yourself distracted, Newt. You have to find the source of that noise.
Suddenly I heard some very familiar squirming noises. It sounded as if it was coming from an enclosed area. I crouched down in my knees in an attempt to allow myself to hear the sound better. I was getting closer to the source. The louder the sound became, the closer I was. It was beginning to sound almost identical to a -- bowtruckle. Could it be? I finally got to open this drawer on the bottom of the sink as I reluctantly opened it slowly, hoping that there secretly weren't any other creatures hiding in there planning to attack me. As if my prayers were magically answered by Merlin himself, it was none other than the short, light green, small black-eyed stick-like plant with attachment issues -- Pickett!
"Oh, Pickett, what on earth brought you in here alone? It's so dusty in here, how did you get here in the first place? Shhh, shhh.. Mummy's here. Now, Pickett.. you have some explaining to do. Come with Mummy, we must go and explain this to Tina.", I said as I lifted Pickett up with the front of my hand and placed him gently in my breast pocket for body warmth. After all, for some odd reason, he seemed a bit shaken up. I wasn't exactly sure what was wrong, as he wouldn't speak up as he normally would. He sank down in my pocket as I could only see his beady black eyes filled with slight fear.
"Don't you worry now, Pickett, you are in safe hands with me", I said as I comforted him with soothing words.
