Chapter 62

{December 25, 2018}
"I'll be back later tonight." I mumbled, kissing Dylan's cheek. Dylan is still in the hospital, but since it's Christmas Day, I need to go see my family.

"Alright, baby. Text me when you get there." He pulled me closer and kissed me softly.

"I will." I smiled once we pulled away. "I love you."

"I love you, too, baby." I pecked his lips one more time before walking away and out of the hospital. I went and got my car yesterday a bit after dylan woke up. I walked out of the hospital and to my car, climbing in and turning it on before turning my music on my phone on.

Once at my brothers house, I turned the car off and walked inside. Nathan noticed me first, as he was cleaning a bit. I was the first one here because I promised to come early.

"Hey, sis. How's dylan?"

"He's doing good." I smiled. "He woke up yesterday. Doctor said he'll be fine once his leg and ribs heal."

"That's great!" He smiled. "Is he getting out of the hospital soon?"

"We don't know yet. The doctor wants to make sure he's one hundred percent before he discharges him." I said. He nodded.

"Have you talked to dad lately?" He asked.

"Nope." Right after my graduation, my stepmom started texting me and telling me that if I didn't go get whatever things I had left there, she was going to sell it all. I didn't have much over there, a few books, movies and things like that. Then we got into a huge fight and my dad got into it and I haven't talked to him since. I did end up getting the rest of my things, though a couple of my books were burned and I had to replace them. I tried to get them to buy me new ones, but they wouldn't, so my brother and I split it.

"They're stopping by later." He said. I groaned.

"I'm still pissed. Like, if you're going to burn my shit, you should be the one to replace it."

"I agree, but you know they wouldn't. You would have never gotten anything new if we hadn't bought it."

"I know. If they say anything to me, I'm ignoring them. It's been seven months. Im done." I shrugged.

"And you have every right to be."

"What do you need help with?" I asked, changing the subject.

"Just setting up the tables outside." I nodded and we walked outside to start setting everything up.
