Chapter 14

{November 24, 2016}
I woke up on thanksgiving morning and groaned loudly as I stretched out. I climbed out of bed and grabbed my phone, going through my notifications as I walked out of my room. I'm at my moms house for the break. I went to my messages with dylan and texted him.

Me: HAPPY THANKSGIVING🦃🍗

Diana😴: happy thanksgiving, cutie

Diana😴: OH! Since I left LA later than I wanted, our date is going to be tomorrow. I also decided I'm not telling you where we are going, because I'm evil like that, but I promise you'll love it. Dress in something comfy, I'll pick you up around 4 o'clock

Me: okay💖 I'll be ready. I'll text you my address later

Me: and tell me where we're going pleaseeeeeee 🙏🏼🙏🏼

He's a jerk if he doesn't tell me.

Diana😴: nope, not happening

Me: RUDE

Me: WHY DO YOU HATE ME

why is that always my go-to? If something doesn't go my way, I say things like that and also like 'my life sucks.' I mean, I guess that isn't a total lie. My life does suck sometimes.

Diana😴: 😂😂Maddy, I don't hate you

I'm going to ignore him. I walked in the living room and saw my mom finishing up the cooking.

"Maddy, want to decorate the pies?" She asked.

"Sure." I grabbed the cool whip, sprinkles and pie and sat at the table. I spread the cool whip over the pie then licked the spoon. My mom turned as I went to get more cool whip on the spoon. I looked at her with wide eyes and she laughed.

"Can I eat it?" I asked.

"Sure. We won't be using it again." She shrugged. I grinned and started eating the cool whip out of the container. I quickly put the green and pink sprinkles over the pie and stood up.

"Done!" I smiled. I put the pie in the fridge and finished eating the cool whip before throwing the container away.

"Who's coming today?" I asked.

"Shandy and the kids and Shad, Kendi and Braylon." She said as she finished the ham just as someone knocked on the door. I walked to the door and opened it. My uncle, Shad, his wife, Kendi, and my cousin, Braylon, were standing there. I smiled and let them in. Kendi grabbed my arm and dragged me to my room.

"What did I do?" I asked, eyes wide.

"Who is dylan Dauzat?" She smirked. I blushed.

"A guy that I have been taking to." I looked at her confused. "How did you know about him?" I asked.

"A friend of mine. Her daughter is a a couple years younger than you and she likes him. When she told me something about him tweeting about you, I just had to ask."

"Yeah, he's my best friend." I shrugged.

"But you like him more than that. Are you dating?"

"No, but we're going on our first date tomorrow. He's picking me up from my granny's." I quickly pulled my phone out and texted dylan that he had to pick me up from my granny's because I was going to be there for their thanksgiving. Kendi and I talked for a minute about dylan then went by everyone else. This should be fun.
