Ashton

stepping through the puddles, I finally reached her once again.

the girl with no name,
the one with the leather covered wrists and strained eyes.

but as i turned her around i noticed her tear stained cheeks and violent shaking,

so i acted on my instincts and pulled her into my embrace.

and for the first time, she didn't refuse something from me.

her head dug into my shoulder as if the only thing keeping her together was my arms wrapped tightly around her.

and as i whispered little things,
and held the quivering girl,
in the pouring rain,

it was almost certain to me that I wouldn't let this go,

i'd mend the shattered glass in my arms until she felt much better.

poor girl,
i'm here.
