Wrapping My Head Around This

Angie POV: 

   After texting with Mike about meeting up with him tomorrow for lunch I had to tell Mel everything that happens today. As I enter the house my therapy dog jumps up on me to greet me "Hey Max! Did you miss me? Have you seen Mel?" I asked him as I enter the house, I go to Mel's room to see if she was in there as I open the door but as I looked around she wasn't there. I go into the kitchen to get something to drink I see a note in the fridge.

Dear Angie and Nina,

   Worked called me in today so I will be late coming home if you need anything give me a call or text. See you all later tonight. 

Mel. 

P.S, Angie, you have to tell me everything when I get home!!!!

    I started to laugh after reading her note, as I sat down on the couch to relax I hear my phone going off for a moment I thought it has Mel wanted the gossip on what happened today. I was shocked it wasn't her but Chester, I muted the TV so there wasn't any noise in the background. "Hey Chester what's up?" There was a moment of silence on the other end 'Hmm? maybe he butts called me by accident without realizing it.' I thought to myself after few seconds I hear his voice coming back to the phone. 

Chester: Hello???? ANGIE YOU THERE!!!

Me: *Starts to laugh* Yes I am here what is up Chazzy Chazzy!!!

Chester: Hahaha nothing much say I wanted to ask you something, Angie? 

Me: Sure ask away! 

Chester: Did Mike said he was sorry for being an ass towards you? 

   I tell him that he did and that he wanted to make it up to me by taking me out to lunch after class tomorrow. I can tell the Chester was happy and relieved to hear that Mike said that he was sorry. I asked Chester why he been asking the way he is I knew that Mike and Anna are no longer married but why is he acting so cold to everyone around him.  He tells me that Anna found someone who can give her the attention and love that Mike can not also with Mike being in the band they hardly spend time with each other anymore. My heart started to break when I hear this, Chester tells me that it was Anna that wanted the divorce and not him. Plus Mike also finds out that she has been having an affair for a year and a half now.

  As kept hearing what happens the more I am starting to get angry with Anna. How could she treat a guy that is so nice and sweet that way? After an hour or some and Chester ended our call. I sat there in silence trying to absorb everything that just happened, the next thing I know I hear the front door unlocked. I turn to the door to see who it was and it was Mel with dinner in her hands.

Me: Hey you I thought you were working late?

Mel: *Places dinner on the kitchen corner* Well it was slow at work so they let me go early you hungry brought Chinese food.

  I nod my head yes she brings all the food to the coffee table and sits next to me. While we were eating I tell what happens to at the lunch, how Mike is single now, and how he wanted to treat me to lunch for what happened today. I asked her if I should be myself and try not flirt with him. "Well, to be honest, I wouldn't right now the poor guy went through hell. Just be his friend right now but hey you never know." Mel was right I should be just a friend to Mike for now, but who am I kidding he wouldn't go out with someone that is my age. After gossiping with Mel and talked about today event I went to my room and start getting things together for class tomorrow. I decided to wear jeans and one my plaid shirts for class, I start to place my clothes on my bed when I hear my phone going off again. I pick up to see who was calling to my surprise it was Mike.

Me: Hey Mike what's up?

Mike: Sorry for calling so late I hope I didn't wake you up?

Me: No actually I am awake just getting things together for tomorrow.

Mike: I see.... so Angie I have a question for you.

Me: You can ask me anything, Mike.

Mike: Well you see.... I was wondering if you don't post on social media that we are hanging out. I don't want people to think I am already dating.

Me: *Feels little hurt* Sure Mike I can do than anything else?

Mike: Yeah umm where at the school you want me meet you at.

Me: There is a park right outside the school so I will meet you there.

Mike: Okay well I will let you go night Angie.

Me: Good night Mr. Shinoda.

Mike POV:

   I hang up the phone sitting there in confusion at first she said my first name and at the end, she calls me by my last name. I see Chester coming up to me, "So how did the call go?" He asked me while he sits down on the table. I tell him it went well and I asked Angie not posted it on Facebook about tomorrow lunch. After saying that I can see that he was starting to get pissed off at me again. I watch him grab his phone and handed it to me.

  I grabbed the phone from him and see it was on Angie's Facebook page I saw that she didn't post about winning the contest or the picture we took at the restaurant. I was actually surprised that she didn't "You see Mike Angie is a very private person she doesn't post on what is going on in her life. So you assuming that she is one those fan wasn't a good idea." I looked up at Chester and back to the phone and I can see her last post was last year.  As I look at her post on Facebook I can see she just recently just got out of a relationship.

  I handed Chester back his phone and started to sink into my chair, twice now I hurt Angie's feelings I grabbed my phone and try to call Angie. I hear the phone sing and it goes straight to voicemail. "Hey Angie it's me, Mike, again umm I am sorry for jumping to conclusions about posted us having lunch on Facebook. I hope you still want meet up tomorrow afternoon. Well, good night Angie sleep well." After the call I head to my car to drive home for the night, I get in my car and I hear my phone goes off. I reach for my phone to see who text me. To my surprise, it was Angie "Hey Mike I got your voicemail and yes we are still on for lunch tomorrow and it's fine don't have to be sorry. I understand that you don't people in your busy I will keep our lunch meeting a secret. Have a good night." Reading that made me feel little at ease knowing that she gets it, but tomorrow I am going to be the Mike I used to be and not cold to her like I was today.
