Chapter 3- My Job At Last

"... And the teacher showed the whole class my video of the tarantula challenge with Tyler. And oh my gosh, that dude beside me just told me that I was kinda funny. I just, oh my gosh." I was skyping with Connor. He just had his first day of school at university today and apparently he had the worst teacher. Whom actually embarrassed him in front of his class.

"That's actually pretty cool. So wait is there anyone who is trying to be your friend or something because you're famous?" I asked him out of curiosity. Or maybe because I wanted to see if anyone was trying to be his girlfriend. What?! I'm just saying! Maybe for once I can be jealous....

"Uh, not exactly... Because there's this girl who's my fan and she wrote me a note. She's like, the class clown.... Wanna meet Marian?" He asked with a smile. Marian sounds like an interesting person, so I guess so. I nodded and he called out Marian's name.

A girl entered the room and she looked about 20. She had beautiful blonde to brown ombre hair which was slightly curled at the ends. She walked towards the laptop and I saw that she had hazel eyes. She was really pretty.

"What's up person skyping with Connor!" she said in a joking tone. She had a cheerful demeanor and was radiating with confidence. Let's not forget that line just made a lasting impression on me.

"Hi Marian! I'm Joel, but you can call me Jo!" I told her. She waved at me and gave Connor a nudge.

"Yes Marian, stop that. She is indeed my girlfriend." I laughed at their interaction. At least I know they're getting along well.

"Marian?" I heard a voice from behind me. It was Shanthi. Wait, what? How does she know Marian?! They've never even met! Marian saw her and a look of familiarity spread across her face.

"Shanthi? Are you Shanthi?" Marian asked. Okay, I guess they knew each other. Shanthi nodded eagerly. They started talking to each other about Minecraft eagerly. Ohhh, so this was the Marian that Shanthi always told me about. The girl who has great edits on Tumblr with so many followers.... And was also addicted to minecraft.

Just then, my phone beeped. I looked at it and realized it was an e-mail from Youtube. Oh that's cool. I opened up the mail and realized that it was them asking if we wanted to work with Youtube and have Youtube as my full time job. I squealed in excitement and started jumping. Shanthi came over and I shoved the phone in her face.

She cracked a smile and started screaming. We were having our little excited moment until Connor's cough from the computer screen called out to us. We looked over and tried our best to explain that we got a job from Youtube.

He smiled and said that he knew we would come this far before we said our goodbyes and shut dow n Skype. I replied to the e-mail and said that we would arrive for the interview at 2pm tomorrow.

-Skips to the next day 1pm-

"JO. WHERE IS MY CURLING WAND I NEED IT RIGHT NOW OR I SHALL DIE!!!" Shanthi screamed from her room. I curled one last curl and brought the curling wand to her room. She grabbed it, almost scalding herself.

I went back to my room in search of the accessories I could use. I put on a bracelet and 2 rings. I found my owl necklace and put it on as I took my turquoise converse out of my shoe shelf. I picked up my floral printed bagpack from my clothes hanger. And then I realized I haven't done my makeup. Oh Haha, jokes on me.

I took my makeup pouch and began applying foundation. There's a high possibility we could be late.

-At 1.30pm-

"JO HURRY THE FUCK UP ALREADY!" Shanthi screamed at me as I kept all my stuff. I went out the door and joined her as she locked the door. The moment I reached level one, there was a taxi waiting for me. Oh, so she called a taxi. I entered the vehicle and we headed to the Youtube headquarters.

We entered Youtube headquarters and went to the reception.

"Hey, uhm, have you any idea where is Meeting Room B?" I asked the old lady behind the counter. She gave us some directions and we headed towards Meeting Room B with excitement.

"Hi, we are Joel and Shanthi..... And yeah, that's us and we are here for the interview." Shanthi told the man sitting behind a desk. He looked up and begin asking us questions.

"Okay, you fit the bill for everything. You are hired. Just read this contract and sign it." I took the contract in my hand and began reading it, I can't believe this is actually happening to me. I poised the pen above the paper and signed it. I handed it to Shanthi and she signed it too.

The man shook our hand and said "Welcome to the Youtube community." I gave him a smile and walked out of the meeting room triumphantly.

I can now quit my shit ice cream parlour job.
