~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I stepped off the plane into the city of San Francisco. Before I boarded the plane I sent a text to Connor, informing him that I was flying here along with Shanthi. Coming to San Francisco was like a fresh new start for me. I didn't want to have any emotional baggage and I all I wanted to do right now was to focus on my career.
Therefore, I needed a new environment so that I could start my life afresh, brushing off all the bad memories, leaving them all in LA. The past is in the past, now, it's my new start.
On the whole way to the conveyor belt to grab our luggage, neither me nor Shanthi spoke a word to each other. Maybe just a few groans and moans from Shanthi because of how she couldn't connect to the airport wifi.... While I, was trying to keep her from walking into people and poles.
"Oh hey look, Shanthi, that's like, your luggage." I looked at Shanthi, still staring at her phone. "SHANTHI THE AIRPORT POLICE IS RUNNING OFF WITH YOUR LUGGAGE THAT COSTS $2000 DOLLARS INCLUDING ALL YOUR CLOTHES AND THAT NEW PERFUME YOU GOT YESTERDAY AND ALL YOUR MAKEUP THAT ARE HELLA EXPENSIVE!" I shouted at her. Her eyes shot up and she screamed.
Well, I was just kidding but if she wanted to take it that seriously than I guess..... Okay. She glared at me before walking over to the conveyour belt to grab her luggage as I strutted out to the open air outside.
The weather was cooling considering that it was the start of September, it was only 21 degrees Celsius. I quickly hailed down a taxi and lugged all the luggage into the back cabin of it. Shanthi soon entered the taxi and we headed towards my cousins house that I decided to live in for the next few months until we found a house.
I had a cousin living here in San Francisco and her name is Riley. I contacted her to let us stay at her house for a few months and I quote directly 'Oh my gosh, you guys! You can stay here for 2 years even if you wanted to!!'. I don't even know why she's so excited but here's the thing, she's a chef.
Maybe she's gonna try all her new recipes on us, I mean yeah, that's possible.
The taxi stopped outside Riley's house and I paid my half of the taxi fee while Shanthi paid hers. Heading towards the back of the taxi, I used all my strength to pull out my luggage before helping Shanthi with hers.
Riley's house had fences that were black and made of metal but were only up the my waist, pretty short. Her house was painted white and had 2 levels. Considerably a big size and I had NEVER been here before. She had flowers growing right outside the window and her lawn was mowed.
Boy does she take good care of her house, good housekeeping skills Riley.
I walked up to her door and rang the doorbell before hearing Riley's voice as she ran to the door. The door opened and I was excited to see my cousin for the first time in a year. She still looked the same just that she had cut off her long brown hair up to her neck.
"JOEL!! I missed you!" Riley exclaimed before hugging me. "I made you guys a full meal of what my restaurant serves, come on in!" She grabbed my hand and pulled me into her house. I feel like she just needs to chill a little.
I entered the house and I heard Shanthi saying hi to her but apparently, she 'doesn't do handshakes and hi', she hugs people. Engulfing Shanthi in a bear hug, she grabbed her luggage and helped us bring it in. I went to take my own luggage and got my hand smacked for doing so.
We walked down the hallway before climbing up the wood stairs that were lined with paintings. Her walls were painted a creamy beige colour and her floors were hardwood. My room was at the end of the hallway and Shanthi's was to my right.
Riley told us her room was on the other end and left us to accommodate to our own bedrooms while she prepared our brunch. I entered my room and Shanthi entered hers.
Opening my room door, right opposite the door was a bed with a mix of grey and white bed sheets and a dark brown bed frame. There was a window with frames that were painted snowy while with grey blinds. The flooring was a light grey that was carpeted and both the walls and ceilings were painted white.
I dragged my luggage into the room and plopped it on the bed before opening it. The first thing that popped in my face was my laptop which I placed, along with all my chargers, on the dark brown computer table that was situated to the left of the door near the window.
I hung up my clothes and placed them inside the while closet while the rest of them went into the dresser on the right side of the door. Riley is good at designing rooms damn, this room's theme is on point. I shoved the luggage under the bed and headed to Shanthi's room.
I opened the door and found her trying to fit her clothes into the closet. Despite the fact she has a dresser, this girl never has enough space to fit her clothes because she doesn't believe in being organized.
"Shanthi," I spoke the moment I opened her dresser. "If you folded all these socks and put your shorts on the side, your closet would probably have enough space, do you agree?"
She placed her clothes on the light blue bed sheets and walked over pulling all the socks out and begin folding them.
"I have no idea how to organise my stuff but dayum, I don't care if you agree or not, this room is on point right?" She inquired while putting some of her folded socks on one side. I took out all her shorts that were on hangers, putting them beside her and nodded.
"Mhm, it's the same thing with my room, but black and white, I love it though, even though I prefer your blue walls. It's much lighter." I replied to her.
"GUYS! FOOD IS READY!" I heard Riley's voice coming from downstairs. Oh hell yeah, she makes the best food. Every single Easter, she cooks and her cooking gets better and better every year.
This is my new beginning, a chance to start afresh.
This is going to be the last Jo's POV for this book. :( If you actually read the A/N at the start you would know that I'm ending this book.
Yes, this book is ending soon but PUT THAT ASIDE.
But I swear you guys will LOOOVE the epilogue. And it will be written in a third person point of view WHICH WOULD BE COOL SINCE I'VE NEVER WRITTEN IN THIRD PERSON IN THIS BOOK BEFORE AND THAT WOULD BE FUN TO TRY AYYY.
So, I thought, what should I write after this book?
1) A Joey Graceffa fanfic
2) A teen fiction about new youtubers (No, not a fanfic though)
3) Another Connor Franta fanfic
Leave a comment in each individual line telling me which one you want me to write!
Also, THANK YOU FOR GIVING ME 80K READS ON TWINS LIKE WHAT I WAS NOT READY FOR THIS BUT OKAY, I AIN'T COMPLAING. <3 ILY ALL SO MUCH THANK YOU. :)
