Our Skype call end was really abrupt..... I had to. Could you imagine the awkward tension if I didn't end the call? I mean like Marian was there and we weren't on the best terms currently, considering she almost ruined our relationship.
But I could see the longing look in her eyes when she looked at Connor. It was like, she really liked him. Maybe Connor was sending her the wrong signals.... I don't really think that way but her love was one-sided and she's bound to get hurt, unless Connor likes her back.
Now it's showing signs me and him are drifting apart and I need to do something about this, right now. But I can't just throw all my responsibilities behind me and fly all the way to Minnesota, that made zero sense. Even though it's what I'm suppose to do.....
"Jo!! Come on outside, I thought you said you'd take a while to Skype call with Connor?? The movie's about to start!! Oh, and we have like ya know, Nutella." Shanthi tried to bribe me into going outside. I don't really wanna go out there because that means leaving my comfort zone and having to interact with other human beings, which I am NOT willing to do.
GET YOUR FAT ARSE OUT THERE THIS MOMENT JOEL.
Zayum, my brain is agitated. Or does it need Nutella in it's system?
OH, THE WORLD MAY NEVER KNOW.
I headed outside and apparently they've got a horror movie going and it's called "Don't Be Afraid Of The Dark". OH HELL YEAH BITCHACHOS, BEST MOVIE EVERRRR!
I plopped myself beside Shanthi and grabbed the popcorn. Okay hold up, what. We have sandwiches, popcorn, soda, ice cream and nutella. How the fuck are we gonna finish this?!
"Shanthi, this is a lot of food for us to finish. It's just the 2 of us ya know?" I informed her.
"Actually no, considering that I kinda invited some other people. Like uhm, Kian and JC." She replied to me with a sheepish smile. WHOA WHOA, HOLD THE PHONE. SHE INVITED KIAN?!
It's been so awkward between me and him and she's just gonna let him step inside our house while the awkward tension is between us. Really though.
"Uhm Shanthi, me and Kian aren't kind of in the best of terms right now.... Yeah...." I mumbled. Maybe it's kinda not such a good idea to tell her this......
"OH FINALLY YOU'RE TELLING ME, I'VE WAITED AGES FOR THIS TO HAPPEN!" She exclaimed, which shocked me a little.
"What? You've been waiting for what?" I asked her, confused.
"For an explanation. I got dem popcorn and I can cancel this anytime, or rather I'll cancel this movie thingy right now." she paused for a while before typing on her phone a little. "Okay, speak. I'm all ears." I think she texted JC to not come over.
"Me and Connor have been going through a lot in our relationship and it's kinda hard to explain. So, Marian tweeted that they were going out but if course, they weren't. But everytime I see the look in her eyes I can see that she likes him. I can sense the longing in her eyes, because that was the same way I used to look at Connor. Now everytime we speak, I'll sense that something has changed. Like it wasn't as always anymore. We couldn't be as fun and casual, we're more stiffed and awkward. And I- Ugh, I just don't even know anymore." I explained out everything in one breath.
"Whoa, chill Jo. So long story short, Marian is kinda in a competition with you against Connor?" She tried her best to understand what I just said.
"He's not an object we can compete with! It's just that I-"
"Do you still love him or does it feel like you're obliged to be with him?" Shanthi asked with the look of concern in her eyes.
Oh, so that's what has changed. It's not us that has changed, it's the feelings between the both of us. We are no longer the couple that got together right at the start. We're just the people whom feel obliged the be together now.
"Shanthi, I believe it's the latter." I replied to her while looking in her eyes.
