PS. Dedicated to @Zenon107 for the book cover!! I really love it!! :DD
I really don't know how this happened, but it did. Things like this are normal right? Who am I kidding? This obviously doesn't happen in a daily basis. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity. And I took it even when it seemed as a joke or even as a dream. Yes, A dream millions of people, mostly girls, share.
It all happened in a normal day of my normal life, or at least as normal as I would want it to be. I was baking some carrot muffins, 9 to be exact. Mom said that some people would be coming here today, hence why I was baking. I took them out of the oven and let the delicious aroma explode my senses. Not to be self-centered or anything, but my muffins were the best. I let them cool off on the kitchen counter and went upstairs to my room searching for my phone. Just as I was heading back to see if the vanilla frosting was cold enough, I hear the door bell ring making a 'ding dong' sound.
"Isabella dear, could you get it please?" Mom asked me from the laundry room.
I went eagerly to the door and swingged it open. I was so shocked that my eyes almost got out of my eye-sockets. I was even having difficulty turning oxygen to carbon dioxide, my heart started to jump in my ribcage and my palms began to turn slightly sweaty. I couldn't believe what I had in front of me. No, this can't be true. The muffin smell must've made my mind turn crazy. This is not happening.
"Dear Isabella O'Connel, you are the winner!" Scream excitedly five guys. But not just any guys. These that are in the porch of my house were One Direction, a recent popular boy band known worldwide.
They all had wide smiles across their faces waiting for me to say something, which I didn't. I just stood there. After a whole minute, I found my voice and asked seriously, "Is this some kind of joke?"
That was obviously the last thing they thought I would be asking first. Heck, they probably thought I was one of those fangirls that stalked their Internet accounts, and that I was going to scream at the top of my lungs and jump all around. No, I wasn't like that. I liked their songs and sure, they were good-looking, but it wasn't a necessary thing to react like I was going to die at their sight. I admit that it's super cool to meet them but definitely not under these circumstances."Nope, this is as real as ice cream deliciousness." Said Niall from behind.
I eyed them up and down, and looked behind them to make sure if there was any camera around. Nothing suspicious by now. Just then my iPhone began to ring.
"Shot me out to the sky, you're my kryptonite, you keep making me weak, yeah frozen and can't breath.
Somethings's gotta give now, cause-"
"Hello?" I asked through the speaker. I didn't even glanced at the called ID from the embarrassment. That ringtone was from one of their songs...
"Hey Isabella!" Shouted my best friend, Alana.
"Shit Alana, you're making my ears bleed." I answered annoyed while rolling my eyes, even if she couldn't see them.
"I'm just so excited! Is One Direction already at your house?"
"They're standing in my doorway... Wait, how do you know they're here?" I asked with a very suspicious tone.
"Shesh, calm down. The least you could be is grateful."
"How do you expect me to be like?! I have freaking One Direction at my house saying I won a contest or whatever." That's when it all clicked. "You didn't entered me in a contests did you?"
"Well, when I bought our CDs, there was this guy who gave me a contest form. I thought 'why not?'. So, I entered us both, but putting my number instead of yours. I received a call four days ago notifying me that you won. I wanted it all to be a surprise. I even made your mom promise me to not say anything..."
"I'm grateful Alana. But next time ask permission. I gotta go, it's rude to leave people standing awkwardly in a doorway."
"Eppp! Good luck!"
I sigh heavily, "Alana, I swear the whole neighborhood heard all of this. You're so loud... Haha bye. Talk later." I ended the call and looked back at the celebrities in front of me.
"Sorry for that," I moved out of the way to let them pass, "feel yourselves at home."
They proceed to the living room and took a seat in one of the two big sofas. They walked the room with their eyes without saying a word. Good thing mom made me do those muffins. "I'll be right back with something to eat."
I moved fast to the kitchen where I saw my mom finishing to add up the frosting on top.
"Mom..." I said suspiciously.
"Yes dear?" She smiled back as if nothing strange was happening.
"You knew of this and didn't tell me? I'm surprised you lasted that long." I joked.
"Oh I just knew two days ago. That friend of yours Alana is just magnificent. Don't you think?" She said with a dismissing tone. In fact, As if all this was normal. I nodded in agreement and kissed her cheek.
"Now take these and discuss the contest details. And yes, your father and I give you full permition with this. You're a grown-up already to look for yourself." She winked at the last part with a mischievous smile. She handed me a plastic plate with six muffins and headed back to wherever she was a while ago.
I hurried back, feeling like the worst host, leaving the guests all alone. I offered each one of them a muffin as I took a seat at the love seat, facing them.
"God! This is the best thing I have ever tasted!" Cried Niall very happy, might I add, with frosting dripping from his mouth.
"It has Carrots! I officially love her." Said Louis this time with a grin.
After they all finished them, we began to talk.
"Okay, my friend Alana just explained me that she was the one who entered me into this contest, hence why I was surprised." They all nodded understandingly and I continued. "But honestly, what's this about? I won a concert ticket or something?"
They all grinned but not in the completely cute way, it also said 'evil' behind it. "It'll be easier if you just read this, it has all the details." Harry said while handling me a yellow envelop.
I eyed them curiously and then at the envelope, like it had inside my death sentence. I opened it carefully and took the papers outside. And began to read:

I stared back at the paper astonished. What-? How-? I was stunned, even my hands were shaking and my heart was thumping a little out of its normal pace.
"What about college?" I ask.
"You can take an online course. But if you don't want this, we can take another contestant." Said Zayn in a cool voice.
"No! I won't let that happen!" Shouted Louis a bit too loud. "I like her. She seems cool..." He said the last part in a small whispers, but loud enough for us to hear.
I thought this over. What were the chances that this could happen again. 0.5 in a bazillion or even more.
Seeing my thoughtful face Louis quickly added," What are you studying?"
"I'm studying music and all that comes with commercializing and such."
This seemed to interest them even further. "We can teach you if you want..." said this time Niall shyly. Aww, he looked so cute like that.
"I don't know. I wouldn't like to be a bother or anything..." I said self-conscious. I didn't like to annoy anyone who didn't want me around. I just drift away and let them be and spend the time alone by myself. My only true and faithful companion was music. I always relied on it. Whenever I was low on my self-esteem because of any reason, music always make my spirits to rise up. I wouldn't like to be a third wheel, well, sixth wheel in this case. They were probably doing this because their manager told them to. It was probably all for commercial purposes.
"Oh please! We've been dying to have someone else! It's getting boring around these guys all day and night. Anything you want we'll give it, but please accept!" Liam pleaded, and the rest joined him, now kneeling on the floor in front of me. Okay, this was too much and was beginning to go out of hand. I felt cornered. They wanted me to, Alana and my parents too, and God knows who else! I needed to think straight. I couldn't make a decision as this big while having my mind getting clouded with many irrelevant thoughts.
I took a big breath and stood up from the love seat, with their eyes still on me pleadingly. "I gotta go outside to think of this. Could wait for a few minutes?"
They nodded and I went outside to the backyard before they could say anything. I glanced at my hands and saw that I still had the papers with me. I quickly began to climb the wooden stairs to my small treehouse. I remember spending most of my childhood playing with action figures with my brother Justin. I was 5 and he was 7 by the time he gave me Green Lantern, his favorite superhero and action figure. We used to play all day after coming from school. During the summers, we would spend time here doing everything and anything. I laugh silently at the old memory. That was so long ago. I was 19 now and he was 22 and in Japan. He was one of those manga artists and he worked for a very prestigious company and was well payed.
I look at what was in my hands 'Once In A Lifetime Opportunity', I could hear a voice whisper. My classes had already finished five days ago. Plus, if I left it, I would be going with professional pop singers, meaning that I was going to have five teachers giving me some lessons from real-life experiences. If I let this go, there was not a possibility that it could happen again. And it was only 15 months, nothing bad could happen. Even if it did, I could take them to a court. And that sure as heck wouldn't look good on big stars-on-the-rise like themselves.
"Are you crying?" Said a voice from the stairs. I looked up instantly and saw that it was Harry.
"God, you startled me!" I exaggerated while putting my right hand above where my heart should be. He chuckled and took a seat on the wooden floor. I took a deep breath and looked him in the eyes. "No, I'm not crying. Why would I?" I sigh, look at my hands and finally make a decision. "I'm accepting." I said in a determined voice. I was ready for an adventure.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hello Peps! Hey so this new story was just something that came out of nowhere I guess. Well actually no. I was reading some fanfiction of 1D and saw that many of the love happened too quick. In real life those take some time. And from there, this first chapter came. I am not a 1D total fangirl. I'm like Isabella said xDD But if there's something about the real-life 1D that I wrote bad, please notify me and I'll make sure to change it.
