Your Nightingale.
"So. We have 50ft of open space all to ourselves?" Sadie pulled out her staff and pointed it to Carter, "If so, then we can't protect this camp. First off. The camp is very big. Second, There's only 5 of us, so we can't keep this camp safe enough. We need 6; one that is fast, strong and powerful. Like Percy. He's all three."
Carter turned around and yelped, "Gods. Nico would you stop doing that!" His heart was racing. Sadie started to laugh, but she was cut off when a rustling was heard. "Nico." Percy had walked to them because his side was safe and secured.
A scowled lit his face, "Stupid. I an sense it's a hellhound. Many more that one. Percy I might need more than-" More growling cut. Nico swung his sword and called the dead to his side, "I need you guys to surround the camp. This area is good. Go and spread out. Make sure nothing gets through you guys. Or else Hades will put more pain on you. Now go!" The dead began to scatter, "Carter, Sadie. I need you guys to help if possible. I've been told that Egyptian magicians can't kill Greek monsters. So if you want, you can try to help."
Carter was sweating, "Does that boy look creepy to you Sadie. He gives of a dark aura that you can sense from a mile," Carter swallowed and straightened, "Come on, Sadie. Lets go kill these hellhounds! I'm ready for whatever stood in our way."
"Thalia. Do you think you can help by dragging some of the hellhounds to the camp. Call the hunters to help. I doubt their sleeping anyway." She grinned, "Anything to save the camp I was taken pity apon!" She called to some hellhounds and caught their attention, "Hey! You big chuck of ash. Wanna snack to eat?! Well guys what, dust pants! It's unavailable! Ha! Ha!" The hellhounds she caught to growled and charged her. "Well I'll see you guys at the camp!" With that she and the hellhound were gone.
"Nico do you think you can-" Percy's words were to late. The hellhound must've smelled death and knew it was Nico. "Nico!" I don't get it, they are Hades pets. How could they kill his children? Percy stared eye wide. He couldn't help. If he did he'd die. Carter and Sadie couldn't either. Percy sighed and went for his gut. "Loyalty. That's what I am." He charged and yelled out, "Curse you stupid hellhounds. Pets of the stupid god Hades!!!!"
Percy's heart was pounding; his brain went back to the time a hellhound first came at him when first came to this camp. It was horrible. The first hellhound in camp. Suddenly, a small glow came from were Nico's body laid; above the mess of hellhounds. It began to glow and glow. Til it was as bright as the sun. Look away, Percy. The same voice who warned him about the imposter Leo and Calypso. He looked behind him, Carter and Sadie were covering their eyes as well.
It was all to fast. The light came so quick, luckily Percy had time to cover his eyes so he wouldn't be blinded by it. Then a voice entered his head. "Am I dead?" All around him, was blackness. Til the same light from before came back, but just not as bright, "Percy. This is no dream, nor is a death note. This a message. I want you to give it Nico."
Percy nodded his head, "Yes. But who are you?"
It didn't answer but ignored that question, "Tell him these exact words: 'You grew to my help. Know you will get my help. With every word spoken from your mouth, you told your life. And now every action you make, whether good or bad. I will be there, your nightingale.' That's what I want you to say to him word for word. Also, tell him, on his left wrist is a marking. I set that on him to remember that I am is nightingale. Now wake up. There calling you name."
Percy's eyes opened quickly. It was the break of dawn, I was out that long? "Percy! Are you alright?" He looked around and saw Annabeth in in face. "Good your alive. We thought you had died. If you did, how would I live." She put her hand on her chest and that's when I though of Nico. "Have you seen Nico? Is he alive? Last night he was attack by the hellhounds. I need to make sure he's alright!"
Percy stood up and saw Carter and Sadie they were talking and she was crying. Carter however was comforting her, not talking. "Nico!" He turned around and saw him walking down to his cabin, he wasn't far so Percy ran after him, "Nico! Nico! Nico wait! He turned around, "What?!"
I have to tell you something important." He rolled his eyes, "About the glow last night? I don't know how I did that but you died. How are you even here? I don't know, your soul was gone for a good 5 minute then your back breathing and saying you have great news. So tell me what it is. I want to know."
"You have a nightingale." Nico made a confused face, "Uh,.. What? Nightingale? All I know is that it's a bird. That's all. I know." Percy smiled, "Good now listen she told me to give this message to you so listen closely." He cleared his throat and said:
You grew to my help, know you will get my help
With every word spoken from you mouth, you told you life
And now, every action you make whether good or bad
I will be their, your nightingale.
There was silence for a bit then Percy said, "Oh. And theirs a mark on you hand too. She said that's the mark so you never forget you have a nightingale. That's all. See you when the quest in session!"
Nico laughed, "Maybe I do have a nightingale. Thank you, Percy. Thank you for telling me. Really, even though your skipping and can't hear me anymore. Thanks for telling me I have one. My nightingale. I might even know who it is without guessing."
His head was down, but Nico was smiling. A real smile, "Thank you, Sincere. I will remember your my nightingale." He walked down to the cabins while whistling "Two Pieces", the first song anyone has every dedicated to him, he had Sincere to thank and he will, once they meet again.
