Chapter 25: Fix what I can

Few months later

"just give me the word and I can shut it off" He says in a professional look.

"No" I say almost breaking my voice.

"doctor is there any other way?" Alex says pleadingly.

"the only thing we could do is wait but even if she wakes up she most likely be traumatised" the doctor informs.

Alex's eyes goes glassy. "so there is no other way?" He says again.

"I'm afraid son this is all we can do" the doctor says again.

"can we atleast see her?" I step in.

"ofcourse" the doctor says before walling off.

Blake holds my hand while we step into the room.

Alex bends down next to her.

"I'm gonna stand outside" Jack says with a guilty face whole heading out.

"I'll speak to him" Blake nods at me before going to Jack.

I stood there watching her breathe yet at the same time, lifeless....

"she was my first love" A tear drop falls down his cheeks.

"Alex" I said softly.

"Is it really all my fault?" He stares at her.

"Don't say that, what happened is in the past and you can't change anything if you blame yourself" I comfort him.

I sigh while heading outside.

"it wasn't your fault" I hear talking outside.

Jack was bending down while meeting his head on his knees.

"its your fault!" Alex comes rushing in.

"Alex calm down" I try to stop Alex.

Jack starts to sob while running his hand through is head in frustration.

"its none of your guys fault!" Blake shouts.

"you can't change the past" I say agreeing with Blake.

"But if I was there to stop Antonio then this would've happened" Jack tries to say.

"what are you saying, what are you going to teleport to him and bash him up" Blake emphasis.

"But he is still out there!" Alex says frustratingly.

"We don't know that yet!" Blake says.

"guys stop fighting!" I step in.

"I need to go" Jack walks out.

Blake runs a hand through his hair.
"I'll go get him" He sighs.

I stop Alex from following them.

"where do you think your going?" I ask him.

"ugh I need to go" He groans.

"go where" I glare at him.

"I don't know" He mutters.

"you know Tina is still alive? Why are you giving up so easily?!" I try to reason with him.

"is she?" He shoves me and walks out.

Few days later

Reaching out for I the door I welcome Blake in.

"did you try talking to Jack?" I ask him.

"They all are a mess" He says while stepping inside.

"I tried talking to Alex but he is so caught up on finding Antonio" I ruff with my hair.

"Jacks been drinking non-stop" Blake informs.

"He's been drinking?!" I say shocked.

"Well how are you holding up?" He looks at me.

I jump into the soda while letting a head lean on the edge.

He comes accross and sits next to me.

"I just lost my best friend, how am I supposed to react?" I close my eyes.

"How do you want to react?" He leans in closer while observing me.

"I'm don't think I deal with this stuff well" I cose into the fluffy fabric.

"I don't think anyone does" I open my eyes seeing him staring at me.

"Actually mums been looking for some houses of apartments near some university to transfer"

"Your leaving?" He says worriedly.

"its not final yet and I know it's not a good time to leave and-" I get cut off.

"Your not leaving without me, you will probably get lost" He shakes his head.

"No I'm not!" I retort back.

"ofcourse you are" He chuckles.

"what about you who got lost in the park" I start laughing.

"I wasn't lost! I was just looking for someone" He says while joining in the laughter.

"feels good to laugh, forgot how much I missed it" I sigh.

"I think it's time to have a new start for all of us" He informs.

"maybe your right" I nod.

"OK but number one rule though, never enter an old abandoned house" I point at him.

"noted" He nods while turning into a chuckle.

"so spend the night with me?" He starts grinning.

"that sounds so wrong!" I say making him laugh.

"But seriously does your parents know about all of this?" I say with concern.

"No, thanks to Alex's dad covering up any evidence in the house. surprised even the cop didn't show up" He says.

"I just hope this doesn't affect our future" I sigh.

"what happened that night should never be spoken" Blake informs.

"agreed" I reply.

"so want to annoy Jack and Alex until they comw out of this faze" He gives me a devilous smile.

"is there something that we can't do better at than this?" I chuckle.

"so it is then" He gets up dragging me outside.

Fix what you can is what I can only think about now before I don't have the chance.
