Crazy Random Happenstance

It was silent for several more seconds before I take a few steps toward the doctor. "I'm sorry." She says and looks up at us. She slowly pulls her gloves off and bites her lip. "This is never easy to say. Your baby didn't make it through delivery. The umbilical cord wrapped around her neck and she suffocated. I'm very sorry." She says and turns out of the room and walks off. My face pinches up and I let go of Madi's hand. I back up until I hit the wall, the slowly slide down. I start sobbing and leaning against the wall. My daughter is gone. I was so excited. I was going to teacher her how to walk, and talk, and ride her bike. I'll never be able to do that now. She's gone.

"I'm sorry Madi." Louis says and sits next to me. "It'll get better Harry." He wraps his arm around me. "I'm sorry..." I shake my head.

"It'll be fine, I'm sorry." Liam says as he sits down next to Madi. I don't bother looking up at them. I wouldn't be able to see, as the tears rushed down my face.

"She'll be okay?" Madi says, sounding lost.

"No, Mads...She's gone now."  Liam explains and it hurts my heart a bit more.

"No....She's with the other babies." She fights her case.

"Madison! She's gone! Dead! She's not coming back! It's my fault!" I scream at her. I let tears continuously fall down my face and cry. I didn't even get to hold her. Niall soon comes in then hugs Madi.

"You don't deserve this. I love you so much. Be strong babe." He whispers and comes to sit next to me. "You'll be okay Harry." He says and rubs my back. I hear the crack in his voice and shake my head. "You can't blame yourself."

"I did this! If I wouldn't have left her on tour! I should have just stayed home with her!" I cry and Niall pulls me into him.

"That wouldn't have changed it. It's not your fault..." He says and I bite the sleeve of my shirt, still sobbing.  Slowly, the room fills with flowers. It wasn't supposed to happen like this.  We were supposed to be a happy family. Now it's ruined. Everything.

"It didn't have to end this way..." Zayn says and sits down.

"Harry...you'll be okay. You have to be strong. For Madi. Alright? You two can have more babies. This was a crazy random happenstance. It wasn't supposed to happen, Harry. Please stop crying. Put on a brave face....please."   Louis says and I look up. His face was wet with tears as well. I shook my head. "You have to try Harry...."

"I can't..." I look down again. "I'm sorry I just can't." I stand up and go up to Madi. I lay next to her in the bed and let her cry into my chest. "I'm sorry Madi. I'm so sorry." I kiss her forehead.  "We'll get through it."
