The 6 of us sit down at a table in Lamonica’s Pizza. It’s a small place and all the people here are adults. I can tell that clearly no one there knows who One Direction is which is sort of a relief. When the steaming, hot pizza comes out on a big platter we all grab slices. It’s been a long day so we’re all pretty hungry. I’m truly enjoying this. Not because of who I’m hanging out with or what I’m doing. But because I feel a sense of freedom; I love being away from my parents and having to do things on my own. We all chat again and I find out some stuff that I wouldn’t have thought of as a regular fan. Louis tells me how the Kevin and Carrots thing can be kind of irritating after a while. Niall spills on how even though he is truly hungry all the time, it doesn’t mean the other boys aren’t, I mean we all eat right? They tell me how fans sometimes assume that they’re perfect even though they’re clearly not.

Zayn jokes, “Yeah we party, drink, and kiss girls and sometimes the fans get pissed about that last part but it’s not like we don’t love all of them. It’s just that we have lives too.”

I’m quite surprised that they’re opening up to me so much. It’s like the plain truth. I, for sure, get what they’re saying though. In my experiences with the fandom I’ve seen some crazy stuff. A picture was leaked a while back of Niall and a girl hugging. It didn’t affect me at all but then I read the caption.

‘That bitch needs to die.’

I was stunned.

Turns out she was a friend of his. I join in, “Yeah I have to say the fans can get a little nuts in some situations. But they do all truly love you.”

Harry looks at me, “We honestly wouldn’t be where we are now without them. I know we say that like all the time, but think about it. It’s completely true.”

“So massive thank you, Alina, for being a fan and taking us to a great lunch!”

Says Louis. I laugh, “You are very welcome!”

Everyone sits there relaxed, satisfied with their meal, “I’m so full now.”

Niall had like four slices.

“It was so good,” he moans, “We’re going to have to come here every time we come to LA now.”

“Agreed,” says Liam, “Well where do you guys want to go now? Any plans, Alina?”

“How about we go to the Santa Monica Pier?”

Zayn smiles, “Cool, sounds fun. What goes on there?”

“Well it’s near hear and basically, it’s a pier with a Ferris wheel, Roller Coaster, and you walk around everywhere. It’s tons of fun and the beach is really nice!”

Niall stands up, “Let’s do it.”

We walk out of the restaurant. On our way out Harry stops right outside the restaurant in the middle of the pretty sidewalk. The boys halt behind us.

“What is it?” I say as I watch him bend down on one knee in front of me.

“Uhm… Alina?”

Oh no, no, no, this is not happening. What is happening!

I scream out of reflex, “Harry what the hell are you doing!”

I look at the boys. They’re looking back at me with their mouths open.

“Alina… Your shoes untied.”

I look down and he ties it slowly. Niall falls to the floor laughing and I can’t help but laugh hysterically too.

“That was literally the scariest moment of my entire life,” I say through laughing.

“Oh gosh I wish I got that on camera, all of your reactions were priceless.”

"Well thanks for tying my shoe, babe,” I say as he gets up and gives me a hug.

He puts his arm around my shoulder and walks down the street with me again.

I look at him and joke, “I think you know better than to pretend to ask a 16 year old for her hand in marriage.”

“It just seems like a logical thing to do sometimes.”

I’m literally falling in love with this boy. All of them are hilarious and have a great sense of humor. We get back to the cars and drive to the pier. When we get there I ask Harry if he wants to go on the roller coaster. He says he’s scared though, so while the other boys go and have fun we go walking. I see a carnival booth and he dares me to try to shoot the water gun at all the targets to get the Teddy Bear. I accept the challenge and Harry gives the worker a dollar. It’s really difficult though, and I don’t win.

I sigh, “Oh well.”

“Awe, let’s try one more time, Lina.”

I smile, “Okay, if you say so.”

This time, after Harry hands the booth-worker another dollar, he comes behind me and holds me helping me aim the gun. Each target falls and we win getting the big fluffy teddy bear. We don’t let go of the water gun though. I turn and look at him holding me so close to him. He just smiles that crooked smile of his. His eyes are piercing, and I’ll always remember how perfect this moment is. He leans down and kisses me and I melt into him. Even though I’m thinking things like ‘Why does he like Me?” I couldn't care less right now. It’s perfect, he’s perfect, and I don’t want to mess it up. He pulls away and gives the giant teddy bear to me.

I smile, “What should I name it?”

“Ted”

“You’re so original, it’s crazy,” I say with sarcasm in my voice, “But he does kind of look like a Ted so we’ll go with it.”

We take Ted and meet the boys coming off the ride.

“That was awesome!” shouts Louis.

Liam looks up, “Do you guys want to go on the Ferris Wheel?”

“Yeah let’s go!”

We walk over and get on the next cycle. Since there are two people per each seat I sit next to Harry and Ted. We go up and I look excitedly over the side at the ocean below.

“Isn’t it just beautiful?!”

I love the beach. I’ve decided, that with all this beauty I’m just going have to live here when I’m older.

He looks at me, “It’s not as beautiful as you.”

No matter how cheesy that was I’m still thinking ‘Awe’ in my head. I rest my head on his shoulder and he puts his arm around me, kissing my forehead.

I hear Zayn shout from the top, “Wooohooo! We’re so high up!”

I giggle. I’m glad they’re enjoying themselves. We go around a couple times before we get off. On our walk out, three girls tap on Liam’s back.

He turns around and smiles, “Hello girls.”

I immediately lower my sunglasses and walk away over to a nearby booth alone. Harry sees me and I wave him to talk to the girls. They look younger than me, maybe 13, and fangirl crazily over the boys. They see me as the closest person to them and ask me to take a picture of them.

“Uh... yeah, sure,” I hold up the camera, “On three now, 1..2..3!”

“FLICK!” A girl shouts pointing at Liam.

They all giggle and I see tears stream down one girls face she’s so excited.

Harry wipes them and she smiles at him with big eyes. He's her favorite and it gives me a warm feeling watching him treat a young fan like that.

Finally, they leave running off happily.

Harry comes over and takes my hand, “Let’s go home, love.”
