I felt myself slowly drifting out of my deep sleep due to the sun shining through my curtains. I'm pretty sure I closed them last night. I grunted, rose up in my bed and looked around my room, taking in the usual surroundings. But there is something different, some of my belongings are in different places than how I left them. I heard a faint noise coming from the other side of my bed. I rolled onto my side and peeked over the side of my bed, rolling my eyes as I realised it was Tristan. My older brother. Snoring his head off while laid on my bedroom floor, clutching his phone in his hand close to his ear. A smirk formed on my face, thinking of something evil. As I planned it out all in my head, I reached for my phone and dialed Tristan's number, hoping it wouldn't be on silent.
A loud ringing noise came from his mobile along with an echoing screech.
I giggled at a now angry Tristan, frowning at me.
"I had to, I'm sorry" I managed to say without choking on myself laughing hysterically.
"Cheers for that, you lil' shit"
"No problemo" I cockily replied.
He eventually gathered his stuff from the floor and headed downstairs. Tris tends to sleep on my bedroom floor, depending if he can get comfortable on the sofa downstairs. Ever since the announcement of our older sisters pregnancy, his room has been slowly transferred as a baby bedroom, which at first; caused a tad bit of drama. Seen as though he was on tour with his band while they started decorating, once he was home no one bothered to tell him until he went up to go unpack for the next few weeks. I don't blame him to be honest, the sofa is pretty uncomfortable.
I finally got dressed in my usual skinny jeans and a cool t-shirt, then entered the kitchen to find my mother buried in her laptop, again. There's no doubt that she has been in that exact position since early hours of the morning, baring in mind it is now 11:22.
"C'mon mum, off to bed you go," I began to instructed her while closing the laptop and putting my arm around her waist.
"You've got a lot of sleep to catch up on" I gently lifted her to her feet and she shuffled towards the staircase and up to her bedroom. I turned around to see that Tris had poked three holes in his slice of toast to use it as a mask. How are we related?
"You're such a creep" I joked,
"And this is coming from you, Abrial"
We both laughed in sync and sighed. Ive missed these moments, the moments of an older brother and younger sister laughing together. I just love it. It has been a hard 4 months without Tris and now he has come back for the odd few weeks, before heading back out to perform with the rest of the guys for different events. I sure wish he'd stay longer.
