~4 weeks later~

"Miss Evans" I shot away instantly from my daze and locked eyes with my frustrated science teacher. Oh boy.

"Urm..yes?" I asked confused, followed by a few chuckles from some people sat at the back of the classroom.

"A sorry would be a start, these drift off's of yours will not be helpful during exam time"

"Sorry" I mumbled back, not giving a damn. My mind has been all over the place this morning. It's Tris' last day and I can't even spend it with him seen as though he leaves at 11:30.

I'm still irritated at the fact my mother did not let me stay off for the day, or at least for half a day, to say goodbye to my older brother. I'm seriously going to miss that nerd. During the holidays we've been doing every single thing we love in our town, from going to our local bowling alley to watching his favourite film with a take out. It was great.

At first break I decided to call Tris' to say goodbye. Leaning against the wall outside near the bench area I dialed his number.

ring two

ring three

"Yo Abe, sup?"

"I was just ringing to like--say bye cause' you're going and all"

"Oh right, well you know I'm gonna' miss you lil sis'"

"You say that but you really don't" I giggled

"Shurrup'" he giggled

"So, what time you heading back?"

"1:40"

"Why a different time?"

"Plane's had a miss happen so we'll be off later"

I noticed the time and realised I better get going for third period. Eurgh.

"Hey, Tris' I'll have to get going. Breaks over and that" I huffed.

"Okay dude, I'll hopefully talk later once I've landed or at the airport. Enjoy school!" I hung up, feeling empty from hearing his voice. I miss him already and he hasn't even left yet. And that's when it hit me, an idea which is much better than English revision class. Go and say goodbye to Tris in person before he goes.

I skipped down the hall, skimming my eyes across the many pupils shuffling through the narrow corridor. No sign of any teachers or duty staff. Make a break for it Abe. I found the nearest door and had quick look round to see if I could find anyone who'd stop me. Without seeing anyone I pushed the heavy door open and made a run for it. I kept running until I reached the end of the street and round the corner, to make sure I wouldn't be caught.

After 3 more minutes of running I finally ended up at my house. Opening the front door I could hear my mother chatting away in the living room. I slumped my bag down on the kitchen worktop an headed into the room which the noise was coming from. I found Tris and our mother sat on the couch, feet up, watching Avatar. Tris' favourite.

"And why are you back at this time?!" my mother practically shouted at me.

"I have two free periods, so I decided to come here before he goes" I lied.

"Oh, well as long as you go back to school when you're suppose to"

As if she bought that bullshit.

"I'll go put the kettle on for us all before it gets to the good parts" she informed us and made her way into the kitchen.

"Free period," he air quoted "that's the best you came up with? Free period?"

"Shut up you ass or forget about me saying goodbye to you" I laughed.

We continued watching the film while we all sipped on our piping hot chocolate. These are the moments I love the best.
