Present day

I kept fidgeting in my seat. My wings twitching under my clothes.

I kept glancing at the clock. The minutes were going by so slowly. Seconds felt like minutes, and minutes felt like hours.

I still had one more class after this. I tried to distract myself, knowing that if I let myself think, I would break to pieces.

But my mind started to wander...

Tears started silently falling down my face.

Stop.

I clenched my hands into fists, my short nails digging into my palms. My wings clenching against my back, trembling with the effort.

I choked back a sob.

A felt a hand rest on my shoulder.

I jerked away violently, quickly scanning the area.

A girl with red bright red hair sat next to me, an expression of distraught curiosity across her face.

"What's wrong?" Her voice was soft and open.

My gaze steeled. "Im fine." I snapped.

She rolled her eyes. "Did you know 'Im fine' is one of the most told lies in the world? Seriously, whats wrong?"

I continued to glare at her. My whole body trembled slightly as I studied her, my mind and body on edge.

"Just thinking." I eventually muttered.

She sighed. Looking away for a moment.
She turned back to look at me, soft eyes studying my face. "Name's Charlie."
She stuck her hand out to shake.

I reluctantly took hold of it. "Sam." I whispered.

She grinned. "Ok Sam, do you wanna hang out sometime?"

"Err what?" I balked.

Charlie rolled her eyes. "Im not flirting you dimwit. Im just trying to be a friend. You seemed lonely."

"Um, ok...?" I furrowed my eyebrows.

"Look, a friend of mine and I are hanging out Friday night, would you like to come?" She asked excitedly.

"Uh...maybe?" I replied, knowing I would have to ask Dean and Bobby first, and I had no clue what they would say.

"Ok!" She chirped happily, turning back to the front the room to pay attention to the teacher.

I continued watching her for a moment muttering 'christo' under my breath.

Nothing. She wasnt a demon.

I relaxed slightly, only to stiffen slightly when the bell rang.

Charlie said a quick goodbye before rushing out of the room. I rolled my eyes before collecting my things.

"Mr. Winchester?"

I looked up to see the teacher nearby.

"Can I speak with you for a moment?"

I nodded.

I like this much better as the first chapter.
